- Day 2
Salt Lake City to Jackson
Start by visiting the State Capitol building, then drive through Logan Canyon and over the Wasatch Mountain Range to Bear Lake Summit. Stop for lunch in Garden City where you can see Bear Lake's turquoise waters. After that, head north along the Oregon Trail to Jackson. You'll check out the famous elk antler arch in town square and browse local galleries. Your hotel sits just a short walk from Jackson's Town Square.

Jackson to Yellowstone
Wake up to views of the Grand Tetons rising 6,562 feet from the valley floor. During the morning, you have the option for a scenic float down the Snake River inside Grand Teton National Park. From there, you'll enter Yellowstone, the world's first national park, known for its geothermal features and wildlife including black bears and wolves. You'll stay overnight at park lodges so you can experience Yellowstone after visitors leave.

- Day 4
Yellowstone
This morning you'll explore Yellowstone's geothermal features at a relaxed pace. Walk through rainbow-tinted hot springs and watch geysers erupt during an informative stroll with your Travel Director. See the colorful mud pots and Old Faithful shooting water over 120 feet up. In the afternoon, head to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Drive through Hayden Valley, which is popular for wildlife spotting, and watch for wolves, bears, elk, and bison. Your evening is free.

Yellowstone to UCross Ranch
You'll travel through Shoshone Canyon and the Absaroka Rocky Mountains to Cody, a Wild West town. Learn about Western history at the Buffalo Bill Centre, which shows Western art, firearms, and natural history. Continue through Bighorn National Forest to UCross Ranch. Start your evening with a cocktail hour in the historic Ranch House bar, then enjoy home-cooked dinner and a fire pit gathering with live country, folk, and bluegrass music.

Begin your day with a horseback ride with a Ranch Hand, or choose fishing or relaxing instead. Later, head to Devils Tower, a striking geological formation sacred to the Lakota and other tribes. Then explore Spearfish Canyon, a beautiful creek-carved gorge with limestone cliffs. The canyon's geology is older than the Grand Canyon itself.

Black Hills to Custer
Cross South Dakota's high plains watching for pronghorn antelope. You'll visit Badlands National Park, which covers 244,000 acres of sharply eroded buttes and pinnacles mixed with the largest protected mixed grass prairie in America. The landscape draws both sightseers and scientists. Continue on to Custer State Park, known for its beautiful terrain and abundant wildlife.

Ascend 563 feet to see the world's largest mountain carving, created to honor the Lakota warrior and Native American heritage. Your trip wraps up with a celebration dinner and wine.

Denver to Glenwood Springs
You'll get up early and make your way independently to Union Station to board a coach transfer to the Rocky Mountaineer train. You'll cross the Continental Divide with views of rugged canyons and the Colorado River through panoramic windows. Enjoy staff commentary and dining service while traveling with your new friends. Step onto the vestibule to experience the mountain tunnels before arriving at Glenwood Springs for an overnight stay.

You'll see mountain views, red sandstone landscapes, and possibly wildlife like pronghorn. Arrive at Moab, the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. After transferring to your hotel, the rest of your day is yours to do as you please.
