  1. Day 1

    Lima

    You'll arrive in Lima and get picked up for the drive to your hotel. In the afternoon, start exploring the city by heading to Miraflores to see the 'Kiss' sculpture at Parque del Amor, then check out Huaca Pucllana ceremonial center. From there, make your way to Plaza de Armas to look at the Government Palace and Municipal Palace, pop into the Cathedral, and walk through the historic Convent of Santo Domingo where San Martín de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima are buried.

  2. Day 2

    Lima to Arequipa

    Leave Lima and head to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. Once you arrive, spend the afternoon touring the 'White City' starting at Carmen Alto viewpoint where you can see three volcanoes (Misti, Chachani, and Pichu-Picchu). Stop by Yanahuara's Andalusian-style church and viewpoint, walk through the Santa Catalina Monastery with its 16th-century streets and gardens, then finish at Plaza de Armas to see the Cathedral and Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús with its famous Dome of San Ignacio.

  3. Day 3

    Arequipa to Colca Valley

    Travel to Colca Valley, driving through Chachani volcano slopes and crossing the Salinas and Aguada Blanca national reserve where alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas roam around. You'll pass several viewpoints and Chucura volcano, then reach Patapampa viewpoint for volcano views. Arrive in Chivay for lunch and a walk around the town square and market. If you're interested, the thermal baths of La Calera are nearby for a relaxing soak.

    Colca Valley to Puno

    Start early to reach Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint and see the Andean condors in flight. Take time to look out over the canyon, one of the deepest in the world. Visit Maca and Yanque to see their colonial churches, make stops at viewpoints like Antahuilque and Achoma for views of the Collagua terraces, then travel to Puno for the night.

    Puno

    Spend the day at Lake Titicaca starting with a visit to Uros, where you'll meet people living on artificial islands made from totora reeds. Continue to Taquile Island to see how locals live in their colorful traditional clothes and explore the island with its nice lake views. Head back to Puno in the afternoon.

    Puno to Cusco

You'll stop at several important cultural and historical sites along the route, including archaeological sites, Andean villages, and natural viewpoints. Check out Inca and pre-Inca ruins and watch the landscape change as you move from the high plains to rolling hills.

  7. Day 7

    Cusco to Sacred Valley

    Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas by heading to Chinchero, a typical town where you'll visit a textile center to learn about ancient Inca dyeing and spinning with alpaca wool, then see the Inca archaeological complex and colonial church. Continue to Moray to check out the Inca complex with its large concentric terraces that worked as an agricultural laboratory. After lunch, visit Ollantaytambo, an important Inca military, religious and agricultural center, to see the Temple of the Ten Windows, Ñusta's bathrooms, and the Temple of the Sun before heading back to Cusco.

    Cusco to Machu Picchu

    Take the train to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Staff meet you at Aguas Calientes station and help with your bus transfer up the winding road with views of the Urubamba River and canyon. Spend time exploring the Lost City of the Incas with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Catch the train back to Cusco at your scheduled time and return to your hotel.
