Dear Penny, I'm sorry to see the trip has not rated highly on this occasion. This is a new trip and after all our planning on inspection by our agent we were made aware the hotel was downgraded to a comfortable grade. We took the decision to inform all our confirmed travellers and give them the option to cancel their trip with a full refund or accept a cash refund based on the accommodation only as we felt this was fair. It’s a shame to see the accommodation has not lived up to your expectations. I can assure you they was no misrepresentation, we have be open an upfront from the start. We have received some very positive feedback for the trip overall. This issues you have raised has been addressed with the staff and we will continue to monitor the feedback going forward. We are working closely with the Hotel and will continue to use this property in our program this year. The hotel is chosen for it's location and local charm, however if standards do slip we will be sure to consider an alternative as our wish is for all our travellers to have a great experience. Thank you for your time and feedback, I trust you have enjoyed some positive highlights from your time away.

Can you suggest transport to and from Heathrow and Alnwick?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten June 2023

Trains can be booked for you to transfer yourself from London to Aldwick. If arriving by train, Alnmouth Station is about 5 miles from the Alnwick by taxi. We advise pre-booking a taxi if you plan to use one. Call the hotel reception for advice on local taxi companies if you want to reserve a taxi or research on line. You will be able to park your car at the hotel

What is the best way to arrive in Abergavenny? I will be travelling to the UK from the United States. Would I fly into London or is it better to fly into Cardiff?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten August 2022

Cardiff isn't a well served airport from the US. The closest bigger international airport is Bristol. I would recommend flying into London as it will be cheaper and you will have more choice. Abergavenny is then less than 2.5 hours by train with a change in Newport with frequent trains from London Paddington.

Is this a guaranteed departure, or is there a risk of the tour being cancelled if not enough people sign up? Would you be able to provide me with a quote for this trip? I am traveling by myself, so I would prefer the single supplement if possible.

    • Explore!OperatorWritten October 2022

All of our departures next year are guaranteed. A single accommodation is available and total amount for the tour on a single basis will be £1260.

I attempted to book this tour but the deposit amount listed was almost half of the total price of the tour. I'm not able to pay that amount upfront yet, so I was wondering if there was an option to book with a smaller deposit?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten November 2022

We are unable to adjust the deposit amount. For this tour now, the deposit is 30%.
