- Day 1
Moreton-on-the-Marsh
Your train pulls into Moreton-on-the-Marsh and you'll spend the afternoon getting to know this Cotswold town. The high street has plenty to see, from elegant inns to eighteenth century houses scattered along the way. The Redesdale Market Hall sits right in the center and gives you a good sense of the town's character. Take time to walk around and get your bearings before settling in for the evening.

Stow on the Wold - Lower Slaughter - Bourton on the Water
Today you're walking through the Cotswolds, heading toward Bourton on the Water by way of Stow on the Wold and Lower Slaughter. This medieval wool town sits along the River Windrush, which runs right down the main street and creates a lovely focal point. There are famous footbridges over the River Evenlode to cross, and you'll also come across a scale model of the village. It's quite a trek but the villages you pass through make it worthwhile.

Guiting Power
You're heading to Guiting Power, a small village that sits in the hills above a small valley and really captures what a Cotswold village should look like. Depending on where you're staying, you might be based in nearby Naunton instead since accommodation there is limited. If that's the case, you'll walk through Guiting Power on your way to Naunton, which takes about half an hour from there.

Hailes Abbey - Sudeley Castle - Winchcombe
Today offers options for different walking routes in the area. You can explore the ruins of Hailes Abbey, which was destroyed back under Henry VIII, and also check out Sudeley Castle where Henry VIII's last wife Katherine Parr lived. Both sites have their own history and character. After your walking, you'll finish up in Winchcombe, a charming town that sits in a deep valley. From there, the Regency town of Cheltenham is nearby if you want to explore further.
