Itinerary
- Day 1
Catania
You'll land at Catania airport and take public transport to your hotel. It's a straightforward journey to settle in for your first night in Sicily.
- Day 2
Catania - Milazzo - Lipari
After breakfast, you'll drive to Milazzo and catch a hydrofoil out to Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian islands. Once you check into your hotel, there's a hike up to Monte Rosa waiting, where you'll see Vulcano, Stromboli, and Panarea spread out below. Later you'll take a short tour around the island, then grab a traditional Sicilian brioche with gelato to wrap up the day.

Landmarks Monte Rosa Vulcano Stromboli Panarea - Day 3
Lipari - Vulcano
A hydrofoil takes you to Vulcano in the morning. You'll hike up to Gran Cratere, the main crater, where hot haze and sulphur fumes hit you as you reach the rim and take in views across the whole archipelago. Stop by a local bakery or bar for a snack, and if you're interested, you can soak in the sulphur water afterward. The afternoon has you back on Lipari exploring the old town and checking out the Acropolis.

Lipari - Filicudi
You'll board a hydrofoil to Filicudi, known for its caves and dramatic coastline. The day involves hiking along old stairways and mule tracks toward Zucco Grande, an abandoned village surrounded by thick vegetation with impressive sightlines to the neighboring islands. A picnic with wine and regional specialties happens somewhere along the route, and then you'll head back to Lipari.

Lipari - Salina
Salina is your destination today, the island famous from 'The Postman' and for its wine and caper farms. You'll climb Monte Fossa delle Felci on the west side through dense forest, then sample Malvasia wine at the top while looking out toward Filicudi and Alicudi. From there it's a bus and hydrofoil back to Lipari.

Lipari - Stromboli
A hydrofoil brings you to Stromboli, Europe's only continuously active volcano. Your guide shows you around the island and explains how the locals live alongside the volcano. You'll walk a panoramic path through Mediterranean maquis to Punta Labronzo viewpoint for safe views of the eruptions. You're staying two nights here.

Stromboli
Spend your morning at the hotel or on the beach if you want something low-key. Late afternoon, you and your guide (plus a local hiking guide) head toward the main crater. The walk takes you uphill through reeds and volcanic ash, and you'll reach a viewpoint at sunset where eruptions happen roughly every 10 minutes. You'll use a flashlight to navigate back down to the hotel after dark.

Landmarks Stromboli Main Crater - Day 8
Stromboli - Taormina - Catania
You'll leave the Aeolian Islands by hydrofoil and return to Sicily, heading to Taormina. The town sits in a beautiful location, so you'll spend time wandering the alleyways and along Corso Umberto, passing small bars and cafés. The ancient amphitheater is worth your own exploration, especially for the views of the coast, volcanic landscape, and Mount Etna. Later you'll travel to Catania for your final night.
