Once SKR....even now a good 4 weeks after our return home after our 14-day trip "Laos Highlights", rather...not SKR anymore. Because the anticipation was immediately blocked when SKR suddenly completely changed our booked itinerary by up to 50% 10 days before the start of the trip without any prior notice or information. Program items such as the "Plain of Clay Jars" were completely cancelled and, as a result, overnight stays and accommodation in Vang Vieng or Vientiane, for example. Instead, there were additional, unbooked nights and partly "parked" days in Thailand instead of the visit to the World Heritage Site of the clay jars. Our inquiry with SKR revealed that this was a necessary change at short notice because other previous travelers had complained about the difficult journey to the clay jars.... but why did SKR continue to offer this trip and let customers, e.g. us, book and pay for it in the same way? The country of Laos and its people are worth every trip, and we also had some wonderful experiences on our trip, also thanks to our good group of 6, but unfortunately less because of our hardly emphatic or caring tour guide. We then donated the small amount of "travel compensation" we received to our small local animal shelter after the trip and "followed up" with SKR. They were delighted.
