Your flight to Beijing departs today. You'll arrive ready to start exploring one of China's most historic cities.



- Day 2
Beijing
Once you land, take public transportation to your hotel to settle in. Then walk through the historic hutongs of old Beijing where a local resident will invite you into their home for tea, giving you a real sense of daily life here. Finish the evening with Peking duck dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Beijing
Start at Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, both UNESCO sites. After that, head up Coal Hill for views across Beijing's rooftops. In the afternoon, travel out to the Great Wall and time your visit for sunset when crowds thin out, letting you experience it more peacefully.

Beijing to Xian
Begin with the Summer Palace, a UNESCO site built around Kunming Lake with beautiful gardens and temples. Then visit the Temple of Heaven. That evening, board a night train to Xian and sleep in a 4-bed soft sleeper compartment, so you'll arrive refreshed tomorrow.

- Day 5
Xian
After breakfast in Xian, walk the 12-kilometre city wall through City Wall Park. Check out the old town with the Bell and Drum Towers and the Great Mosque in the Muslim Quarter, plus the smaller Wild Goose Pagoda. By evening, try local dishes at the night market.

Xian
Walk through a local open-air market early to see the morning activity. Then head to the Terracotta Army, a UNESCO site and one of China's most important archaeological finds. Back in Xian, grab lunch at a local restaurant trying the regional Biang Biang noodles. The afternoon is free to rest or explore on your own.

Beijing to Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai this morning. Use public transport to move around the city, then wander the old town's narrow streets and traditional shops. Visit Yu Garden, then spend some free time before evening. End the day strolling the Bund waterfront and heading to a rooftop bar for drinks with views of Shanghai's skyline.

Shanghai
Start at Shanghai Tower for city views from high up. Take the subway to Longhua Temple, Shanghai's oldest and largest temple. Then explore the French Concession with its colonial buildings and street cafes. Later, participate in a modern take on a traditional tea ceremony at a stylish teahouse.

Shanghai to Hangzhou
Take the express train to Hangzhou, known for its beautiful landscape around West Lake, a UNESCO site. Walk across artistically designed bridges and through islands, then visit Huagang Park. Stop at a tea plantation to taste different types of Chinese tea. Round out the day walking through the old town.

Hangzhou to Yangshuo
Continue by train to Guilin, then travel to Yangshuo surrounded by green mountains, unusual rock formations, and karst caves. You'll stay here for two nights in a specially chosen accommodation with great location and character.

Yangshuo
Take a bamboo raft down the tranquil Yulong River, a UNESCO site, through the karst landscape. The exact route shifts based on group size, tides, and weather. Some days you might visit Yin Zi Yan stalactite cave instead, or go to a viewpoint overlooking the landscape. Later, climb Moon Mountain at 380 metres high, named for the crescent-shaped hole at its peak.

Head back to Guilin by bus and board the train to Hong Kong. When you arrive in this vibrant city, your local guide will meet you and take you to your hotel to get settled.

Hong Kong
Go up Victoria Peak at 373 metres for views of Victoria Harbour and Kowloon. Then travel to Hong Kong's southern bays and Repulse Bay with its wide beaches for a different perspective. Visit Aberdeen's floating village where fishing families live on houseboats. The rest of the day is yours to relax before heading to the airport in the evening.
