  The tour consisted of separate day trips, rather than travelling with a group, as I expected. The trips were subcontracted to local agencies, so we had sometimes interesting trips with good guides, sometimes less so. It was good to have two cities, Lisbon and Porto, as bases rather than changing hotels daily, but the hotels, while of good quality, had less than desired locations, with no good restaurant options nearby, which would be useful after a long day trip. Also, I really appreciated being picked up to and from hotels, airport and train stations but I suggest also being delivered to where the tour starts in the morning, which some of the local agencies offer anyway. Finally, breakfast was included daily, but they start at 7 am and several tours required you be there at 7.10 am, so effectively this meant no breakfast.Show more

  Great visit to Portugal. We were met on time by driver's for airport transfers. I rate Porto as Great, Douro Valley - outstanding, Coimbra- excellent, Lisbon - good. Tours were not as advertised since we were grouped in large Gray Line tours while in Lisbon. Very little time to enjoy Sintra and Cascais.Show more

  The trip was very lovely. The tours were well done mostly with professional, pleasant and informative guides. The itinerary was perfect with just enough time in each location. I thought the hotel chosen in Porto could have more centrally located but was otherwise nice enough. The hotel in Lisbon was better located but could have been nicer…breakfast was served in a windowless basement room. The half day city tour in Lisbon was the only tour that was fell short. We had to meet a small bus at designated location only to be brought to tour bus depot and transferred to large bus. Was supposed to be small group tour. Tour guide seemed to read script into microphone but we couldn’t see her from bus seats. Everyone on bus was asleep. At each location she said ‘get out’ and told us how long to come back to bus. We had no idea what we were seeing. All other tours were quite good however on our last day, our guide showed up to pick us up 1 hour late. When I called the phone number to inquire as to his whereabouts I was told they’d look into it. They didn’t call me back. I called again and was told the driver had car trouble. Finally the driver arrived an hour late and said this was the time he was given. This miscommunication and lack of action from the company when I called was disappointing given how early we had to be ready for the time we were given. Other than those minor issues we very much enjoyed the trip and found everything to be well organized. Thanks!Show more

  I took my daughter on this ten-day tour to Portugal before dropping her off to Santiago de Compostela for two months of study at the University for Spanish. It was the perfect tour, the day trips were very interesting. I didn’t realize that we were going to have our own personal tour guide driver for most of the trips and it was a lovely surprise. The Hotels were Centrally Located, not totally in the old city centers but close enough to walk every day mostly Or if not then to take an Uber or taxi for nominal fee. All of the guides were incredible And accommodating. Our private vehicles were Mercedes so the drives were exceptionally comfortable . We had 2 wine tours in the douro Valley and a tour in Porto of a port wine company again I guess I didn’t read everything but I didn’t expect those tours ..The only tours that we had that were with other people had less than six people… The Portuguese people are incredibly nice and mostly speak English so that was a lovely addition that I was not aware of frankly . I would highly suggest his tour I think it’s an incredible very in-depth tour of beautiful Portugal!!Show more
