    Athens

    Your driver will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel. After the journey, you'll have time to settle in and rest up before your tour begins.

  2. Day 2

    Athens to Nafplio

    Leave the hotel early and head south toward Peloponnese along the coast. You'll stop at the Canal of Corinth, then explore Ancient Corinth and Kechrias Port where Apostle Paul landed. After that, you'll board the cog railway through Vouraikos Canyon. Later in the day, you'll visit the Cave of the Lakes, which has 13 colored lakes and a hanging bridge to cross.

  3. Day 3

    Nafplio to Dimitsana

    Following breakfast, you'll walk around Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, and check out the Castle with its 999 steps for views of the area. If you prefer, take a taxi boat to Bourtzi island instead. Then you'll travel to Ancient Mycenae to see the Gate of Lions and the tomb of King Atreus. Before heading to the village of Dimitsana, you'll visit the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus.

  4. Day 4

    Dimitsana to Monemvasia

    After breakfast, drive 20 minutes to start a walking path toward the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos. The walk takes about 20 to 30 minutes and offers nice views of the Lousios River. You'll continue hiking through the gorge to reach the Monastery of Philosophes, one of Greece's oldest. Later, you'll head to Monemvasia, a stone-built Byzantine fortress town located on a large rock by the sea.

    Monemvasia to Sparta

    Once you leave Monemvasia after breakfast, you'll visit Mystras, a Byzantine town nearby. Explore both the upper and lower sections, seeing the Palace of the Despots, various houses, the Cathedral of Saint Dimitrios, and monasteries. Then you'll stop at the Museum of Olive Oil of Sparta to learn about how olive oil is produced and its importance to Greece.

    Sparta to Pylos

    Leave Sparta and travel to Areopolis and Diros to explore subterranean caves that are part of an underground river system. You'll take small boats through about 5,000 meters of passages, passing stalagmites and stalactites. These caves were used for worship in ancient times and were thought to lead to the underworld. After, you'll continue on to Pylos.

    Pylos to Olympia

    Your driver will pick you up at 08:30 to reach Ancient Messene, a major archaeological site in the Messenian valley built in the 4th century B.C. You'll continue to Vassae at 1,130 meters elevation to see the Temple of Apollo Epikurios, designed by a famous architect and Greece's first UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1986. The day ends at Ancient Olympia.

    Olympia to Ioannina

    You'll spend the day at Ancient Olympia, where the first Olympic Games took place in 776 B.C. Walk through the lush valley formed by the Alfios River and see the Temple of Zeus, which once held one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. Check out the Treasury houses, Gymnasium, Palestra, and the stadium with its original marble starting blocks. Later, head out for Ioannina, a multicultural city with Christian, Islamic, and Jewish influences.

    Ioannina to Thessaloniki

    After leaving Ioannina, stop in Metsovo, a traditional village on the Pindos mountains at 1,160 meters. Walk the narrow streets and find hand-made local products. Then travel to Vergina to explore the Museum with royal tombs of Macedonia and treasures from King Phillip II. Visit Veria to see Saint Paul's Bema and the old Jewish neighborhood. You'll end the day in Thessaloniki.

    Leave Thessaloniki and head to the Archaeological Park of Dion at the foot of Mount Olympus, the sacred city of Macedonians. Then travel to Meteora to start exploring the monasteries perched on giant rock formations. Visit the Holy Monastery of Great Meteoro, the largest and oldest monastery built on a massive rock. Also tour the Monastery of St. Stephan, a small 16th-century church decorated in 1545.
