We are a family of 5 persons: 2 adults and 3 teenagers (19 years, 16 years and 14 years old). We will be arriving in New Delhi Airport on August 2nd at 06:00 in the morning. Our departure flight is scheduled to leave from New Delhi on August 11th at 08:00 in the morning. During the 9 days that we will spend in India, we want to visit Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Since it will be monsoon season and very hot, we would like to have hotels and moments where we can cool off. So airco in the hotels is a must have and a swimming pool in most hotels would also be very nice. Next to the places of the golden triangle, we would like to visit one additional location. If possible, we would also like to spend a day where we spend the time with meditation or yoga. We are open to sleeping car trains if that would make the program easier/more budget friendly. We are not interested in doing an animal safari and do not want to ride the elephants. We prefer to have encounters with the local community instead and this could be in the countryside, outside of the cities. We were hoping for visiting a place where the less fortunate are helped (orphanage, kitchen for the poor, etc.) spending one night in an old palace or fancy place. attending a bollywood movie any special activity where we engage with the locals have some free time to do some shopping for the girls. We prefer to do the visit with a private driver/guide so we can choose to start and end of the visits ourselves.

For sure, we want to visit the cities of the golden triangle: Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Given the fact that the weather in the 3 cities will already be very hot and humid, I am wondering if you can compare the best places to go during this august period. Perhaps there is one place where the weather is less hot and humid and more suited for Europeans like us. Haridwar and/or Rishikesh: I read on the internet that the rains are so heavy in August that visiting is not recommended. Dharamshala: I read on the internet that the rains can cause the planes to be not operational and roads might be blocked. Varanasi: I heard that this is one of the holiest cities of India and very much worth to visit. Ladakh: Since this is a region in the higher mountains, I expect this is cooler than the rest of our trip and the Tibetan heritage is very attractive. But I am not sure if this is possible at all in the limited time we have available also considering the risk of altitude sickness.

In Mumbai we explored highlights such as the iconic Gateway of India, the sweeping waterfront of Marine Drive, and the magnificent Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.   Haridwar/Rishikesh and Dharamshala are the destinations that should be avoided during monsoon time. Amritsar is only one night destination and combining the same with Dharamshala could be risky due to road closure or flight cancellation in monsoon. Ladakh is in no rain zone, also August is the best time to visit Laddakh region.

  After consideration, we have decided that we want to visit Varanasi together with the Golden Triangle. When going to Varanasi, I don't want to lose time by driving back to Delhi to get to Varanasi. Instead I prefer to take the overnight train or a flight from Agra or Varanasi. During the longer rides, we would like to sit very comfortably with 5 adult-sized persons. What is the difference in price when we use a Minivan (e.g. Tempo Traveller) instead of a 7 seater car (e.g. Toyota Innova)? For the yoga session we would like it to be half a day. For instance: 60 minutes yoga class, 30 minutes meditation, 45 minutes Ayurveda treatment. Can this be included in the program or shall I organize this directly locally? Where and when (which city, which moment) do you recommend that our girls do some shopping? Please note that we explicitly do not want to ride the elephants at Jaipur. This is out of respect for the animals.

  Innova can accommodate only up-to 4-person group with luggage on the top of vehicle. For more than 4-person in the group we use Minivan (Tempo Traveller). It could accommodate 8 big baggage inside a cabin separate from seating area. In both itineraries you will get ample time for shopping in all cities. The transport will remain at your service so don't have to worry about the start and end time. Private Yoga and meditation classes with English speaking Yoga teacher can be arrange in any city on demand at Yoga and Meditation center, Yoga schools, private yoga practitioner home or at your hotel venue and charges for same will be EUR 39 per person per session (based on minimum 5-person group). Yoga and meditation center may not have the 45 minutes Ayurveda treatment facility. Ayurveda treatment option you can opt at hotels and charges for same depend on your hotel's selection, which you can pay directly. Your interest in philanthropic activities (visiting NGO, schools, and donating to poor) is well noted and our guide will include same during the sightseeing tour. There will not be any charges from us for this activity. We have also noted no use of animal activities, no elephant ride etc.

  Our preference is for option 2 with the train ride from Agra to Varanasi and the flight back to Delhi from Varanasi. With the Tempo Traveller car. I think for hotel preference, we can have a mixture of 3star and 4star hotels. Actually the rating of the hotels is not important to us. It would just be nice to have a swimming pool in the majority of them to cool off from the hot weather. We will also go for the 1 double + 1 triple room arrangement. Just please make sure that the 3rd bed in the triple room is a real bed, not a (fold-out) couch or roll-away bed.

  3-star hotels may not have swimming pools; hence we recommend package booking with 4-star hotels. Also, there is little difference in the price of both options. We will ensure the hotels we are booking; have a swimming pool and they provide proper extra beds not couch or roll-away bed. We applied the revised price for revised itinerary using 4star hotels accommodation 1 double and 1 triple rooms. Train ticket charges are well included in our package price, we require name as per passport, passport number, and date of birth of all travelers to book the train ticket. Optional activities charges such as private Yoga and meditation classes with English speaking Yoga teacher can be paid later. Once hotels booking is confirmed we will provide you best available flight fare from Varanasi to Delhi.
