The assistance from office staff pre trip was excellent. The first hotel in San Jose was average. The room backed onto a very busy road and was extremely noisy all night so we got no sleep after a long flight. The shared shuttle/transport arrangements worked and we got to our destinations ok however we were often left a bit confused as to what was actually happening because of communication difficulties with language. The Evergreen Lodge was good and gave us a good feel for the area. Food was not fancy but tasty and plentiful. Lomas del Volcano Hotel in Arenal was fantastic, beautiful garden setting, excellent restaurant and great pool. Country Lodge in Monteverde was ok but nothing special although restaurant food and staff were very good.Show more

This tour was absolutely magical! I went with my mom (72) and we saw and learned about new plants and animals around every corner. Enjoyed every minute! The tour was well organized, on time, getting us to and from all our activities. Besides the organized hikes, we added a night walk, visit to a sloth sanctuary and tour of the coffee, cocoa and sugar plantation. Which we organized through each hotel. Lots of options for adventure activities, like ziplining and canyoning/repelling. Will come back with hubby and teenage boys! The first and 3rd places were small lodges, but the second place was a huge resort with a series of thermal pools, pool-side bar and huge water slide. All meals not included in the tour, we ate at the hotels, and it was good food- and good drinks! The first and second places had a zipline on the property. We are very happy with our choice of tour! We were expecting to travel with the same group the whole time, but that wasn't the case. We were always with other people in transport and activities, but not the same group of people. The hikes are pretty mild. Never more than about a mile. Some had big steps, though. Hope you have as much fun as we did!Show more

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
