Itinerary

Hanoi to Cat Ba Island
A bus leaves Hanoi early morning headed for Cat Ba Island, taking about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive, there's time for lunch at a local spot before heading down to the pier for an afternoon boat tour. You'll cruise through Lan Ha Bay and paddle kayaks into limestone caves and through narrow lagoons, spending roughly 2 to 3 hours on the water. The rest of the evening is yours to settle in at your accommodation, grab dinner, or walk around town and get familiar with the area.

Cat Ba Island to Hanoi
Start early by checking out Military Hospital Cave, a historical site from the war, then head to Ngu Lam peak where you can see across the whole island. After that, you'll cycle through the village on local roads covering about 3 to 5 km, which gives a real feel for how people live there. The Cat Ba Museum comes next to learn more about what happened here historically. After grabbing lunch at Pavilion Restaurant, you'll board the bus back to Hanoi, arriving back in the evening.
