Tour was overall good. Note that although it says Eskapas Travel is the tour operator, it’s actually subcontracted to Carrani Tours which is a local tour operator in Italy. Pace was good, all the hotels were good, included meals were good. Plenty of free time to do our own activities too.

On day 8 my traveling partner and I were separated from the group and had to continue on a different route. We had no idea what was going on. Found it confusing. For that experience I would not choose escapes again even though our tour guide was amazing.

Our Italian Discovery tour with Eskapas was amazing and this journey was epic! Just be sure to pack your comfortable walking shoes. The itinerary is packed with iconic sights, which we loved, but it left little room for personal discovery. I guess the tour should be more longer in Florence and Venice. The coach was comfortable, and the accommodations were well-located. Our guide was phenomenal. The value of having someone handle all the logistics, tickets, and transportation cannot be overstated. It truly allowed for a stress-free and deeply immersive experience.

Our tour was mixed with two other tour companies. The total number 62. The bus was so large, we had to walk further then expected, everywhere. We clocked 4-6 miles per day. The group was so large we spent additional time at the very limited rest stops. Hotels 3 stars at best. One tour leader for this large group.Safety concerns for those who lagged behind. Always rushed. I could go on and on…

We were able to see many cities in a short amount of time, with cultural sites and modern culinary experiences included. Hotels were a mix from brand new (they are still putting the doors in, to needing a renovation urgently.) Overall, this tour packed a lot of elements into a tight schedule. So come prepared to get up early in the morning and be on the go until evening. Also be aware that there will be many travelers from different booking agencies. Similarly, different operators are handling parts of the itinerary so there is quite a bit of hand-off. This may confuse you initially as not everyone will follow the same schedule for the whole tour.

I’m not usually big on organized tours, but this one actually worked out great. The trip hits all the major spots — Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri — and yeah, it’s a lot. You’re on the move almost every day, but it didn’t feel rushed. Just be ready for early mornings and some walking. Some standouts for me: • The guides in Florence and Pompeii were the best. Super passionate, actually funny, and open to questions. • In Bologna, there was a local food experience — not a full meal, but more like tastings and some street food. It felt authentic, not touristy. • Capri was amazing. We got to see the Blue Grotto (worth it) and still had time to explore the island a bit on our own. That day felt like a vacation within the trip. One thing about Rome: It was guided — we had the Vatican and museums covered with a proper guide — but we also booked the optional Colosseum tour, which was with a different group and guide, and we had to get to the meeting point ourselves. That part felt a bit disconnected from the main tour, just something to keep in mind if you’re doing add-ons. Also, after day 8 (when the tour heads south to Sorrento and the Amalfi side), the group can change. Some people left, some joined. It wasn’t a huge deal, just caught me off guard a little. Hotels were clean and well-located. Not luxury, but solid. The bus was actually way more comfortable than I expected — air-conditioned, modern, no issues. If you want to see the best parts of Italy without having to plan every detail yourself, this is a great way to do it. You’ll be tired, yeah — but you’ll also come back with 500+ photos and no regrets.

This tour exceeded my expectations. The itinerary was packed but very well-paced — I never felt rushed. Our guides in Florence and Pompeii were absolutely brilliant and passionate. Also, the food experiences in Bologna and Montepulciano were a dream for a foodie like me! Everything was smooth and organized. I traveled solo and felt safe and looked after throughout the trip.

The Vatican is already included in this tour, so there's no need to make any special arrangements for it. If you'd like to see Michelangelo's David, we can add the guided Accademia Gallery excursion for $130 USD per person. Alternatively, you are welcome to visit the gallery on your own during the free afternoon in Florence.
