Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival to Sigiriya
Your Holiday Lanka Tours representative meets you at Bandaranaike International Airport, then you'll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage near Kegalle. There you'll see orphaned elephants that the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department cares for. From there, you'll continue on to Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, known locally as the Golden Temple, before heading to your hotel in Sigiriya for the night.

- Day 2
Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
After breakfast, you'll start early for the climb up Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as a royal residence for King Kasapa. The hike offers views across the surrounding landscape. Later in the morning, you'll drive about an hour and fifteen minutes to Polonnaruwa to see the Gal Vihara temple and explore other historical sites in the area before returning to your Sigiriya hotel.

Polonnaruwa to Kandy
You'll head to Kandy after breakfast, and along the way you'll stop at Matale Spice Garden where guides show how different spices are grown and processed. The drive to Kandy takes around an hour and fifteen minutes. Once there, you'll check into your hotel and settle in. Later that evening, you'll attend a traditional cultural dance performance that highlights local music and movement.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
This morning includes a Kandy city tour with stops at the Kandy Temple, Royal Greenhouse, a traditional batik processing factory, and local shops. You'll then visit Sri Dalada Maligawa, which houses the only surviving Buddha tooth relic in Buddhism and holds significant importance to the faith. In the afternoon, you'll travel to Nuwara Eliya, stopping at a tea plantation and factory to see how tea is produced, plus visit a waterfall in the area before overnight at your Nuwara Eliya hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Colombo
After breakfast, the day focuses on Nuwara Eliya, sometimes called 'Little England' for its colonial heritage. You'll have the option to take walks through the town and visit Haggala Botanical Garden and Gregory Lake. Later, you'll drive back toward Colombo, passing through the business district and Pettah oriental market. Along the way, you'll see Hindu temples, Buddhist temples, and the Jami Ul Alfar Jumma Mosque before reaching your Colombo hotel for the evening.
