I absolutely loved Costa Rica — it is an amazing place to visit. However, I want to leave an honest review about this specific tour because, looking back, I do not think it was a wise financial decision for me. This is a 10-day, 9-night tour. If you are traveling solo or as a couple, and you have no time or desire to plan anything yourself, this may actually be a good fit. In that case, you are paying for convenience: the route is planned for you, the hotels are chosen for you, and you do not have to spend time organizing the trip yourself. But from a value perspective, I do not think it made financial sense for me, especially traveling as a family of four. Renting a car for 10 days ( SUV ) would have cost about $1,300. The hotels included in this package appear to be around $150 per night or less, which comes to about $1,350 for 9 nights. Together, that is about $2,650, even before adding airport taxi costs. For a family of four, as in our case, the cost becomes even harder to justify. You still only use one car, but then pay about $1,305 extra for an additional room, bringing the total package cost closer to $6,000. And that is without considering how much we still had to spend on food, activities, and entrance tickets, since only breakfast was included. So the overall trip cost ended up being significantly higher. Also, this tour is presented as a surf trip, and I just want to point out that the places we stayed were usually about a 5- to 9-minute drive from the surf spots. That may be completely fine, since in some areas surfing conditions can be tricky and some beaches are more convenient than others, but I think it is worth mentioning. The highlight and best part of my trip was Hotel Cuna del Angel, which was a very special place. However, this hotel was not originally part of the itinerary. It had been changed, and I was not personally notified. Because of that, I lost the entire evening and did not get to enjoy the gorgeous restaurant there as I would have otherwise. As I said, Costa Rica itself was wonderful, and I do not regret visiting at all. But looking back, I would not make this choice again, period. For me, this tour did not offer good value for the price.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 1st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 1st, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Destination Services Costa Rica. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
