For this tour, we organize a private tour in Bangkok, and a group tours in Chiang Mai and Phuket. The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tour is a partial group tour in which you will have a group tour for excursion at each place, for airport pick up and accommodation are private. Regarding transportation between cities, instead of flying, you can take an overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, however, I don't recommend it if you are sensitive to noise. Flying from Chiang Mai to Phuket is mandatory due to the long distance.

Tour is advertised at US $779. When I view tour, price jumps to US $1720. Why?

What is the additional $350 local payment for? When is the best time for this tour? How is the experience for a solo female traveler?

During this package, you will join the group tours on Day 4 and Day 5. The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tour is a partial group tour in which you will have a group tour for excursion at each place, for airport pick up and accommodation are private. The rest of the package are private tours (only you, the tour guide, and the driver). It's based on the English-speaking guide. In my experience, the best time to join this tour is from October onwards. Thailand is a great destination for a solo female traveler. It's generally very safe, friendly, and easy to travel around. With our package, everything is arranged (transfers, hotels, tours), so you can travel comfortably and safely without worrying about logistics. I've also hosted many solo travelers, including older women, and they still really enjoyed their trip. Apart from the Upfront Payment, which has to be paid before the trip on Tourradar, your package still has a remaining Local Payment of USD 350. The local payment covers airfares during the trip, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees for a wholesome experience which you pay us directly by credit card anytime until the arrival day.

During this Amazing Thailand In 9 Days tour, you will join a group tour on Day 4 and Day 5. If you want a trip with total under USD 1,500 for a 11 days 10 nights in Thailand, honestly it's really hard for a solo travel. The trip is quite high if you go as a solo travel. For this Amazing Thailand In 9 Days package, the price for a solo traveler with 3-star hotels is: USD 1,720 + USD 350 (Local payment) = USD 2,070. So if you want to extend your trip duration with more activities, the price will increase.

Based on your initial request for 6 adults, departing on 9th Oct 2025, the price of 4-star accommodation (2 people sharing a room) will be: US $1,367 + $350 (local payment) = US $1,717/person. The local payment covers airfares during the trip, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees for a wholesome experience, which you pay us directly by credit card or cash on the first day. Please check if there is anyone who prefers to stay in a single room, which has a single supplement. Feel free to let me know if you want to change the hotel to a 3-star or 5-star. Please note that the cost doesn't include the extra flight from Phuket back to Bangkok. You can check the flight back to your home from Phuket. The airlines will automatically combine the connecting flights in Bangkok, which is more convenient to arrange the extra time in Bangkok, or self-arrange two flights. But in case you want to book the extra flight, please let me know to advise the cost (but we need to know your departure flight time to advise the suitable schedule if you take both flights on the same day).

Could you tell me which payments are included in the $350 USD local payments? For example, does it include the elephant sanctuary and the trip to Phi Phi Island?

The Local Payment covers domestic airfare during the trip (except for international flights for arrival and departure of this trip), the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees for a wholesome experience. You can pay Local Payment anytime till your arrival day by cash (new USD bills), OR credit card payment link (with transfer fee). About the elephant sanctuary and the trip to Phi Phi Island are optional tours, and does not included in our price aslo in our local payment. If you want to join these 2 tours, you need to book in advance.

I would like to know how much would be the extra cost for a spanish speaking guide for this tour.

For this package, the group tour is only available with English-speaking guide. If you want to have a Spanish-speaking guide, we have to make it as private tours, it will make the price quite much higher.

This trip deserves 10 (!!) stars. It was fabulous from booking to arriving safely at home. Realistic Asia was the company that organized the itinerary; booked the hotels of my choice, the 2 flights within Thailand and the many tours. Especially as a solo traveler, there's nothing nicer than being greeted by a friendly face holding up a sign with your name on it upon arriving at the airport. And having a driver to pick you up and bring you to the hotel, or on a tour and get you back to your destination. The tours for the first days in Bangkok were private which was pretty luxurious. Each tour guide was from Thailand which provided a great opportunity to hear their perspective as a local living and working there. Long, from Realistic Asia, was working out of Vietnam. He was an expert at coordinating logistics and fantastic communicating throughout the 9-day tour; however, he knew little first hand about the hotels in Thailand. I researched them myself online. I stuck with 3-star hotels since I was out and about most days. (from 7am and back around 6 or 7pm). Four Wings in Bangkok best features were the large rooftop pool and great gym, but rooms were pretty dated. De Charme in Chiang Mai was excellent. Sure the bathroom was tight with the toilet snug up against the shower, but it worked fine for me. Their pool and surrounding lounging area looked pretty small. Breakfast was over the top with many dishes to choose from including authentic Thai food. I upgraded to the 4-star Deevana Patong Resort & Spa which had a wonderful pool (that I could enjoy at this point in the tour) with swim up bar, although the gym is terrible with no AC and machines that are broken. Spa looked like reservations hadn't been made in months. It looked deserted. The tour in Chiang Rai including a hike was great, though someone who's not in shape or able to maneuver well through the sometimes dense forest, may find it challenging. There was always a warm lunch included on these (long) day tours. The vans used to get us there was comfortably with AC and great drivers. I opted to add the 2 tours: Elephant Sanctuary and Phi Phi Islands Boat Tour....both well worth it. The elephant sanctuary was a once-in a lifetime experience, up close and personal with these amazing animals and learned lots about elephants from the staff. The boat tour was great as well and the perfect way to end the Amazing Thailand in 9 Days tour. I commend Long from Realistic Asia for being a top-notch communicator, friendly and very professional. He was always concerned that I was satisfied throughout the tour until he knew I got home safely. Tips: WhatsApp is the preferred method of communication so be sure to install it on your phone. You will likely upgrade/top up the storage on the e-Sim's 1G. If you do go on the Phi Phi Islands Boat Tour in Phuket, have a "Unbreakable Waterproof Phone Case" which carries phone, cash, hotel key.Show more

All transfers were timely and the people all very nice and helpful! Our last stop in Phuket had no outings/excursions planned… wish they had at least included one and then we could have filled in with others. We added many other activities on our own: dinner cruise and Tuk Tuk food tour, visit to railway station and floating market while in Bangkok. Catamaran snorkeling and sunset dinner tour in Phuket. I feel TourRadar could have offered more direction/suggestions for recommendations on must see/do activities, transportation (ex: Grab)Show more

  For this tour, we organize a private tour in Bangkok, and a group tours in Chiang Mai and Phuket. The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tour is a partial group tour in which you will have a group tour for excursion at each place, for airport pick up and accommodation are private.
  
  Regarding transportation between cities, instead of flying, you can take an overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, however, I don't recommend it if you are sensitive to noise. Flying from Chiang Mai to Phuket is mandatory due to the long distance.

  During this package, you will join the group tours on Day 4 and Day 5. The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tour is a partial group tour in which you will have a group tour for excursion at each place, for airport pick up and accommodation are private. The rest of the package are private tours (only you, the tour guide, and the driver). It's based on the English-speaking guide.
  
  In my experience, the best time to join this tour is from October onwards.
  Thailand is a great destination for a solo female traveler. It's generally very safe, friendly, and easy to travel around.
  
  With our package, everything is arranged (transfers, hotels, tours), so you can travel comfortably and safely without worrying about logistics. I've also hosted many solo travelers, including older women, and they still really enjoyed their trip.
  
  Apart from the Upfront Payment, which has to be paid before the trip on Tourradar, your package still has a remaining Local Payment of USD 350.
  
  The local payment covers airfares during the trip, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees for a wholesome experience which you pay us directly by credit card anytime until the arrival day.

So if you want to extend your trip duration with more activities, the price will increase.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 23rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 23rd, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Realistic Asia. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
