Dear Graham, Thank you for this review. We appreciate you bringing up those topics. We're glad you enjoyed accommodations, guides and transportation which were provided on the tour, this is something totally on us. We've taken you to best restaurants in each location where you were able to order from menu your preferred selections. Being a tour operator we have no control over foreign country denying your entry or closing its' border. What we have control over is to continue 27 days itinerary of 6 countries uninterrupted by providing alternative sightseeing with equal services for the 4 days planned for Turkmenistan. The difference in cost was refunded to you before end of your tour. The 40 minutes boat ride in Azerbaijan on Caspian Sea is noted in your original itinerary as "if weather permits", in your instance it was not possible due to low water levels, which we also have no control over. It was an honor to have you with us. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Julia

I am very interested in the 5 Stans and Caucasus trip (31 days). I usually book trips through tour radar well in advance. I was wondering if there were any available dates for November/December 2025?

November and December are not favorable months for this tour because of weather and day length therefore we're not offering a scheduled departure tour during this time. The best time of the year to enjoy this tour is April to June and August to October. Would you be interested in picking different departure date?

How is the weather like? What clothing should I wear?

    Tour Details
    • East Site IncOperatorWritten December 2023

The average temperature in Ashgabat in May for a typical day ranges from a high of 85°F (29°C) to a low of 59°F (15°C). Some would describe it as pleasantly warm with a gentle breeze. Most people would dress in something very light like a sleeveless shirt however, wearing layers so you can ensure you are always comfortable is recommended.

Thank you very much for the information. Now I know what to wear. On a different note, I am planning to to make it for this trip. Since I will be in the area, I would like know if you offer tours to Iran, Afghanistan and Tibet?

    • East Site IncOperatorWritten January 2024

At this time we don't offer tours to Iran and Afghanistan for safety concerns. We only offer one tour of Afghanistan called Afghanistan Uncovered.

Will the border of Turkmenistan open on August?

    • East Site IncOperatorWritten January 2023

We expect for Turkmenistan border to open by March of 2023. Just in case if it won't we will have an option to run the tour without Turkmenistan. We will substitute 4 days in Turkmenistan with 1 extra day in Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. This change won't affect beginning/end/duration/price of the tour.

    • East Site IncOperatorWritten March 2023

Turkmenistan border is opened! Just today we applied for visa support for March tourists, the documents were accepted. The itinerary is going to be operated exactly as planned.

I had reached out a couple weeks ago regarding the Stans and Mongolia itinerary and just ran into this amazing one… but I am sad because I just saw that the trip is for guests 55-85 and that makes me too young to tag along :(

    • East Site IncOperatorWritten September 2022

We don't have age restrictions, but majority of our clients are in their golden age.
