Negombo
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport and connect with your private driver for the ride to Negombo. The hotel sits close enough to the airport that you won't spend much time in transit. After checking in, you can decide whether to settle in and rest or take a walk through town to get a feel for the place.

- Day 2
Negombo to Sigiriya
Start by checking out Negombo Fish Market, Sri Lanka's second largest, then head to Lellama Fishing Village to see how locals live and work. You'll pass the Dutch Canal before driving about 3 hours to Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with centuries of history carved into rock. The drive concludes in Sigiriya for the night.

Sigiriya
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress to explore ancient palace ruins, frescoes, and gardens built over 1,000 years ago on a massive rock formation. Later in the afternoon, head to Hiriwadunna village (around 2,500 people) to experience rural life, have a traditional meal with locals, and walk through the surrounding woods.

Sigiriya to Kandy
Your driver takes you toward Kandy with a stop at a spice garden along the way. After you check in to your hotel, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism's most important sites. By evening, catch a culture dance show featuring traditional Kandyan dancers performing for you.

Cooking Class Day
Following breakfast, you're heading to a cooking class with a local chef. First you'll walk through the market together picking out fresh ingredients and learning what to look for. Then you'll get hands-on with spice blending and cooking techniques before preparing lunch that you've made yourself. The afternoon is yours to either take it easy back at the hotel or arrange something on your own.

Royal Botanic Gardens - Nuwara Eliya
Your morning starts at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Peradeniya, one of the top tropical botanical gardens you'll find anywhere. The drive to Nuwara Eliya gives you time to stop at Ramboda Falls, a tall waterfall worth seeing, and if you have time, the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple. Once you arrive in Nuwara Eliya, you'll visit a tea plantation and factory where you can taste black tea and try picking some leaves yourself before settling into your hotel.

Nuwara Eliya
Early on, you'll hike Horton Plains National Park on a 9.4 km trail lasting 3 to 4 hours, with World's End as the highlight where a cliff drops 880 meters below. Afterward, visit a local market in Nuwara Eliya to chat with locals before heading back to your hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella
After breakfast, take a 3.5 hour train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, watching some beautiful countryside pass by along the way. Your driver meets you and takes you to your hotel. Once settled, head out to Nine Arch Bridge, a stone and brick landmark where you might catch a train crossing.

Little Adam's Peak - Yala National Park
You'll start the morning with a hike up Little Adam's Peak, which takes about an hour to reach the 1,141-meter summit and doesn't require serious climbing experience. After that, head to Ravana Falls, one of the country's widest waterfalls. Then comes the drive south to Yala, which takes around 2 hours, followed by an afternoon jeep safari in Yala National Park timed so you avoid morning crowds and get better chances for spotting wildlife.
