Itinerary
- Day 1
Muscat to Ras Al Hadd
Start early from Muscat and head along the coast toward Sur. You'll stop at Bamah Sinkhole and Fins beach for a swim in the white sand. Then continue to Wadi Shab where you can swim through pools surrounded by fresh water and banana plantations. After arriving in Sur and Ras Al Hadd, grab dinner and then head to Ras al Jinz Turtle Sanctuary later in the evening to watch green turtles nesting and laying eggs on the beach.

- Day 2
Ras Al Hadd to Wahiba Sands
Following breakfast, travel to Wadi Bani Khaled for a refreshing swim in one of Oman's larger wadis. From there, move into Wahiba Sands to see the shifting desert landscape. You'll visit a local Bedouin family to learn about their way of life and have coffee and dates with them. Spend the evening around a campfire for dinner and then settle in for the night in the desert.

Wahiba Sands to Nizwa
Drive to Nizwa, the historic interior capital, and check out Nizwa Fort built in the 1600s. Walk through the famous souq where you'll find hand-carved Khanjar daggers and silver jewelry, plus the Friday cattle auction. Then visit Jabrin Castle from the late 1600s to see the detailed ceiling paintings and woodcarvings. You'll stay overnight in Nizwa.

Nizwa to Jebel Shams
Head up winding mountain roads to Misfat Al Abrien, a village that feels frozen in time. Continue climbing toward Jebel Shams, Oman's highest mountain at 3,000 meters/9,843 feet, driving through deep ravines and passing small settlements with rugged views. Dinner and overnight stay happen at Jebel Shams.

Jebel Shams to Al Sawadi
After breakfast, drive from Jebel Shams and Nizwa to Billad Sayt, a mountain village perched on cliffs with views of terraced farms below. Travel along the loop through Wadi Bani Awf, climbing up Jebel mountain with gorge views and small pools for swimming. Continue along Batinah toward Nakhl, known for its date palms and natural hot spring, stopping at 350-year-old Nakhl Fort. You'll end the day in Al Sawadi.

Al Sawadi to Muscat
After breakfast, head to Muscat for a city tour hitting the main landmarks. Start at the Grand Mosque of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, then explore Mutrah's fish and vegetable markets and the largest traditional market. See old Muscat including the Sultan's Al Alam Palace and the twin Forts of Jalali and Mirani. Finish at Bait Al Zubair Museum for Omani cultural displays before getting dropped at your hotel.

Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for a 1-hour flight to Salalah. The rest of your day is yours to relax and enjoy the beach at your own pace.

Salalah East and West Full Day Tour
Spend the full day exploring Salalah in both east and west directions. Start with Wilayat of Taqah in the mountainous countryside, then head to Sumhuram, an ancient port city from 2,000 years ago tied to the perfume trade near Khor Rori Creek. See Wadi Dirbat with its plants and birds, visit the world's longest cave, and check out the Dhofar coastline views from Jebel Samhan. After lunch, travel west to Mughsayl beach to watch sea blowholes and see frankincense trees. End at Nabi Ayub tomb inside a mosque before returning to Salalah.

- Day 9
Salalah to Empty Quarter and Ubar
Travel through the Qara Mountains into Dhofar's Nejd area with its sand dunes. Make a stop at Thumrait, a Bedouin settlement, then continue toward the Empty Quarter with dunes reaching 250 meters or higher. Visit Ubar, the lost city buried under sand until satellite technology helped find it. You'll have lunch at Thumrait and pass frankincense trees on the drive back to Salalah.
