I want to have an upgraded private room but it says single room is still shared. I don't understand. I want a private upgraded room for 1 person

If you opt for a private room upgrade in a single room, you will have your own private room at all locations excluding 1 night during the temple stay where you will stay in gender separated rooms of 2-5 beds.

Is that primarily due to the tae kwon do class? I am 68 so would probably just watch that anyway. I was wanting to see how appropriate this trip would be for me before we book it.

The recommended age range is in place for the overall dynamic of the trip and because some days can be spent walking up to 15,000 steps per day. Also, the standard accommodation is in multi-bed dorm rooms in hostels with the option to upgrade to a private room at all locations excluding 1 night during the temple stay. If you're comfortable with the above described, we'd be more than happy to consider you for this trip. Alternatively, you might be interested to join our 10-Day Premium South Korea Adventure: Culture, Cuisine, and Coastlines which is a similar trip. This trip can accommodate guests aged 18-75 and uses twin rooms in comfortable hotels. Or, our Korea Family Adventure: 9 Days of Unforgettable Memories. This trip is more targeted towards families with children, but we regularly have adult families join the trip too. We can accommodate guests aged 7-70 and again, use twin rooms in hotels. If you'd prefer not to participate in a particular activity, then that's absolutely fine.

Do you have a tour like this guided tour but proper and not like this in temples and hiking. But separate or customized itinerary but I dont want fully solo. I want with few people in a group maybe.

It's not compulsory for you to join all the activities. You don't have to join for anything you're not interested in doing. If you let me know in more detail the type of thing you're interested in, I can offer more advice. We can only customise an itinerary for a minimum group number of 4 people. The maximum group size for this trip is 20. I'd be happy to find a date for you that has less people booked on, but I can't guarantee the numbers will remain the same since there's always the possibility that more people will book onto the trip.

We are fit and healthy 65 y.o's who cycle and play golf all week are we welcome on this trip?

While we appreciate you're fit and healthy, we wouldn't be able to accommodate you on this trip. Although we have the age range in place, the majority of guests are in their 20's, 30's and 40's and expect to join this trip with a younger age demographic. Alternatively, you might be interested to join our 10-Day Premium South Korea Adventure: Culture, Cuisine, and Coastlines. This trip uses comfortable hotel rooms as the standard accommodation and can accommodate guests aged 18-75. If needed, we can add extra nights so you can extend your stay.

Can you tell me the age ranges of the people on the tour from march 15th-26th? I am 18 years old and traveling by myself. I am worried about being significantly younger than everyone else.

I'd be more than happy to outline the age ranges of that specific departure below: 13 Passengers; One 19, Three in their 20's, One in their 30's, Three in their 40's, Four in their 50's, and One in their 60's. So there's a real good range of different ages on this specific departure, making for a very mixed and enjoyable trip.

Day 12, after the Jeju Island trip, is there a free transportation to head back to Seoul?

While we appreciate you're interested in joining this trip, the recommended age range for this trip is 18-55. Although we have the age range in place, the majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-40. Our guests book this trip with the expectation of joining a group with a younger demographic.

These tours are designed to bring solo travellers together and give you a great travel experience! The standard accommodation is shared dorm rooms, however if you wanted to have your own private room, this is offered with a single supplement. The single room upgrade is priced at £580 GBP and upgrades you to a private room throughout the tour, apart from the 1 night in a Temple where all guests stay in rooms of 2-4 people of the same gender. No, this price does not include international airfare to/from South Korea. The trip price includes all accommodation and transport within the tour, guiding and some of the activities. A flight from Busan to Jeju Island is included. Currently we do not offer women only tours, but we do see that our trips attract more women than men. The split can be around 60-70% women in general.

Is your age requirement firm? We are three ladies 60 years old.

We can offer some flexibility on the age recommendation, with travellers joining the tour ages 18 to early 60s previously. However, it is important to note why the age recommendation is in place. This itinerary is quite active and fast-paced, with a lot of walking and travelling by public transport. Because of this, we have an age recommendation in place to make sure all travellers are comfortable and able to fully enjoy the experience. Of course, this isn't a strict rule and if you feel confident with the level of activity, you're very welcome to join us!

I decided to check out The Dragon Trip as a tour company, since there aren't that many who don't charge a solo surcharge if you're happy to share the same room with another person on the tour. On this particular tour just FYI at some places you have up to four people on the tour to share a dorm room. There was never anyone outside of the tour sharing the rooms with us. To me I actually prefer the latter. But accommodation was very good on this tour. We had a great tour leader/guide in Julian, who cared very much about everyone on the tour having their best time. He was always helpful when interacting with locals or just giving advice on what to see and of course guiding us around destinations. The destinations itinerary wise were to me more extensive than similar priced tours, for example most rivals don't do Jeju which this tour does over the last couple of days. I also wanted a tour that visited the DMZ border area with North Korea, which this one does on one of the days. The DMZ was a little underwhelming but we saw and experienced everything there was to see/do there as dragons (those on tour are referred to as dragons by the way). As someone who hadn't been to South Korea before I thought the itinerary covered the main things to see and showed us the culture well. I won't go into day since you can read the itinerary yourself, but the karaoke was awesome, there's some good nature walks. Excellent cultural experiences. Overall it was really good, the only letdown being there is so much free time. Way, way too much! I prefer tours where the days are packed with everyone doing stuff together. As if everyone is doing the same thing it is more fun and pushes you out of your comfort zone in a good way so you do stuff you wouldn't normally do. For me I could stay in hostels by myself and do day trips to all the attractions in a country, but the appeal of tours is doing them with other people so you can share the experiences. But with so much free time the group on this never really bonded as one big group as fast as most other tours do, instead we all just fractured into smaller social groups, especially over the first half of the tour. Like all tours by the end of course everyone gets to know everyone, but it just takes longer on this one due to all the free time. We also did have a really group of dragons, everyone got along, no one was rude to anyone on else or disliked anyone. Those who have done China, Japan with Dragon though do say those other tours had a lot less free time, so I would consider doing other The Dragon Tour tours. South Korea also has the factor that there are people in the group who are doing a combined tour with Japan, which is before this one so they have already bonded their own group. A lot of companies though do the combined tour thing, and it isn't that big a hurdle to overcome if you're joining fresh. It is also really only an 11 day tour, as those who have booked a flight to Seol as an add on leave at 8:30 in the morning on day 12, and the rest of us have to check out by 11. There are no group activities on this day. So it should be advertised as an 11 day tour. I'd note though unfortunately most rival companies these days also do this mislabeling an extra day thing. But definitely recommend The Dragon Tour for doing South Korea. You'll have a blast. Just FYI demographic wise, we had people from Australia, Canada, USA, Scotland, England, Germany, The Netherlands. We ranged in age from late teens to late forties. Our guide Julian was from Korea and as I said before he was excellent and showed us his country and culture in a fun and professional way, and was like a friend to us all on the tour. We had a great group, hope you do too!Show more

In Seoul, visiting the royal palace, the Seoul Tower at night, and hiking in the national park were real highlights. The visit to the DMZ and learning more about the history between North and South Korea was especially impressive. Busan felt completely different and was just as fascinating. The Monk Temple Stay was a unique experience, together with the drone show at the beach, fireworks, Korean cooking, the skywalk, the fish market, and having coffee in the second tallest building in Korea with an incredible view. Jeju was the perfect ending to the trip. Beautiful nature, a relaxing atmosphere, and a completely different side of Korea. We also had a great tour guide, Julian, who constantly showed us local specialties and shared many interesting insights about Korean culture, food, and everyday life. Is that primarily due to the tae kwon do class? I am 68 so would probably just watch that anyway. I was wanting to see how appropriate this trip would be for me before we book it.

Also, the standard accommodation is in multi-bed dorm rooms in hostels with the option to upgrade to a private room at all locations excluding 1 night during the temple stay. If you're comfortable with the above described, we'd be more than happy to consider you for this trip. Alternatively, you might be interested to join our 10-Day Premium South Korea Adventure: Culture, Cuisine, and Coastlines which is a similar trip. This trip can accommodate guests aged 18-75 and uses twin rooms in comfortable hotels. Or, our Korea Family Adventure: 9 Days of Unforgettable Memories. This trip is more targeted towards families with children, but we regularly have adult families join the trip too. We can accommodate guests aged 7-70 and again, use twin rooms in hotels. If you'd prefer not to participate in a particular activity, then that's absolutely fine.

Do you have a tour like this guided tour but proper and not like this in temples and hiking. But separate or customized itinerary but I dont want fully solo. I want with few people in a group maybe.

  It's not compulsory for you to join all the activities. You don't have to join for anything you're not interested in doing. If you let me know in more detail the type of thing you're interested in, I can offer more advice. We can only customise an itinerary for a minimum group number of 4 people. The maximum group size for this trip is 20. I'd be happy to find a date for you that has less people booked on, but I can't guarantee the numbers will remain the same since there's always the possibility that more people will book onto the trip.

  These tours are designed to bring solo travellers together and give you a great travel experience! The standard accommodation is shared dorm rooms, however if you wanted to have your own private room, this is offered with a single supplement. The single room upgrade is priced at £580 GBP and upgrades you to a private room throughout the tour, apart from the 1 night in a Temple where all guests stay in rooms of 2-4 people of the same gender. No, this price does not include international airfare to/from South Korea. The trip price includes all accommodation and transport within the tour, guiding and some of the activities. A flight from Busan to Jeju Island is included. Currently we do not offer women only tours, but we do see that our trips attract more women than men. The split can be around 60-70% women in general.

This itinerary is quite active and fast-paced, with a lot of walking and travelling by public transport. Because of this, we have an age recommendation in place to make sure all travellers are comfortable and able to fully enjoy the experience. Of course, this isn't a strict rule and if you feel confident with the level of activity, you're very welcome to join us!

  We were hoping to do a combination Japan/South Korea trip in mid April 2026. The three of is are particularly fit for our age so walking at a good pace isn't an issue except for maybe wanting to stop and take pictures:). We might want a room upgrade unless I go by myself. In that case dorms are fine.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
