These tours are designed to bring solo travellers together and give you a great travel experience! The standard accommodation is shared dorm rooms, however if you wanted to have your own private room, this is offered with a single supplement. The single room upgrade is priced at £580 GBP and upgrades you to a private room throughout the tour, apart from the 1 night in a Temple where all guests stay in rooms of 2-4 people of the same gender. No, this price does not include international airfare to/from South Korea. The trip price includes all accommodation and transport within the tour, guiding and some of the activities. A flight from Busan to Jeju Island is included. Currently we do not offer women only tours, but we do see that our trips attract more women than men. The split can be around 60-70% women in general.

Is your age requirement firm? We are three ladies 60 years old.

We can offer some flexibility on the age recommendation, with travellers joining the tour ages 18 to early 60s previously. However, it is important to note why the age recommendation is in place. This itinerary is quite active and fast-paced, with a lot of walking and travelling by public transport. Because of this, we have an age recommendation in place to make sure all travellers are comfortable and able to fully enjoy the experience. Of course, this isn't a strict rule and if you feel confident with the level of activity, you're very welcome to join us!

We were hoping to do a combination Japan/South Korea trip in mid April 2026. The three of is are particularly fit for our age so walking at a good pace isn't an issue except for maybe wanting to stop and take pictures:). We might want a room upgrade unless I go by myself. In that case dorms are fine.

Can you share what the last day looks like if the purchase air transfer from Jeju to Seoul? Are there usually international flights available on the same day?

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten October 2025

On the final day of the tour, the Jeju to Seoul flight is usually booked for the morning and the group will arrive back in Seoul around 12/1pm. The flight will arrive at Gimpo Airport, which is around a 30-minute journey via the subway to Incheon International Airport, so we would recommend booking a return flight home that departs late afternoon/early evening. Many travellers find flights that depart the same day/evening, or they can chose to have 1 extra night in Seoul and fly the following day instead.

I am interested in this tour, but have concerns about the hostel set up. Is it like a hotel where I can shower in the room or do I have to go to a different location of the building? I also wanted to know about some of the itineraries and are they mandatory? One does not interest me, so could I do something on my own that particular day? For instance, instead of a cooking class, I would be more interested in seeing a baseball game.

With a hostel the showers and bathrooms are not situated within the rooms, they will be in a different part of the hostel. If this is a concern for you we do offer a slightly more premium tour where we use hotels instead of hostels. These are all the included tours and optional activities. Most of our optional activities can be booked during your trip, however, there are a couple that must be booked in advance to guarantee availability. You of course don't have to take part in all the included activities but we can't offer a reduced rate if you decide to go on the activity.
