Communication could have been a lot better. For instance our tour group was advised that a meet and greet session was to take place on the day before the tour started. It did not happen and there was no notification. The tour minivan was much too small for 8 people. We were all aged 70s and 80s and squashed into a small van, 3 to a seat. It was also difficult for some of us to negotiate a tight squeeze to get into the van. Those of us in the back seat could not hear anything the guide was saying which is the whole point of doing a tour and gaining information on what you are seeing. The guide should have had microphone equipment. The places we visited were fabulous and well thought out for a good tour of Slovenia. The guide was first class and we could not fault him. He was well organised, very helpful and flexible and well knowledged on the areas we visited. Highly enthusiastic. He was the best guide I have ever met or heard on a tour.Show more

I just completed the tour, Stunning Slovenia 172103 start date 12.09.2024 by Palma DMC & To. Slovenia is a beautiful country and friendly people. The tour guide Ziga was a pleasant young man who was very knowledgeable about his country and I would not hesitate to take another tour with him. Where the tour was extremely lacking is the lack of communication and organization between the company Palma DMC, the guide and the tour participants. Before I left for the trip, I specifically asked Palma DMC in a message if my luggage would be portaged for me since I have a back issue am are not able to lift anything. I was assured it would be taken care of. It was not! There was a total lack of porters at every hotel we stayed in. Ziga tried to help but the tour was a total of 7 senior citizens with various health issues. Tour Radar list this tour as appropriate for 1-99. Obviously not! It was not like any group tour I have ever taken. It definitely is not a 4.8 rated tour. I have to say besides a lack of porters the hotels were as advertised at a 4 star +. Since the group only had 7 + the tour guide, they put us in a 8 person van. Being the younger of the group, and others claiming various ailments, I and 2 others in our group were stuck in the back bench for the whole tour. It was cramped, difficult to get inside or out and there was no view of the countryside. We were not able to hear or see any of Ziga’s commentary regarding the countryside since the company Palma would not provide a microphone. The van was not appropriate for a tour of this expense. A larger vehicle was requested but not provided. This ruined the tour for me. The tour lists free time at various stops. It would have been nice to shop, have time for a coffee etc. Due to mismanagement and the elderly slow moving mix of the group it was not possible. I would not recommend a tour from this company and rate it at a 2.Show more

The STUNNING SLOVENIA tour exceeded my expectations. Our kind, fun and friendly tour guide, Dejan, was hard-working, attentive and very knowledgeable. Dejan's extensive tourism experience, coupled with his undeniable versatility, allowed us to flawlessly and fully experience so many of Slovenia's gems! On our 8-day trip, from gorgeous castles to the calming Adriatic Sea, from many historical monuments to Slovenia's delicious local cuisine--all were elevated by Dejan's passion for Slovenia! We couldn't help feeling rewarded by each of this small country's many treasures and then eager to keep exploring. Palma Tours could have done better to set expectations before my arrival in Slovenia about our tour guides--it would have been helpful to know that we'd be meeting the Ljubljana city tour guide the day before meeting Dejan, who was the tour guide for the rest of the trip (the non-Ljubljana parts of the itinerary). Palma Tours was responsive, and easily convinced me of their impression that Slovenia is STUNNING!Show more

  I have since read reviews and the last two there independently suggest the vehicle was cramped, the communication poor in the vehicle and communication from the company was not great. Concerned to be spending so much for an ordinary experience in a beautiful country.
