We truly regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially when compared with the overwhelmingly positive experiences shared by our other guests. However, for the sake of accuracy and fairness to our future readers, we would like to clarify a few important points.
First, regarding the hotel in Petra, you mentioned a “last-minute hotel switch” but did not specify which property was changed. The truth is that your original booking was for a 3-star hotel, and we proactively upgraded you to the 5 star Hyatt Zaman Hotel at no additional cost purely as a gesture of goodwill. This was not a downgrade or hidden change, but a complimentary upgrade to ensure greater comfort and quality.
As for the visa assistance, because you were holding the Jordan Pass, your entry visa was automatically included in the pass. Under Jordanian regulations, tour companies are not permitted to accompany travelers inside the immigration area once a Jordan Pass is used. Nevertheless, our driver was waiting for you at the arrival hall exit, exactly as promised.
Regarding transportation and flexibility, it’s important to mention that our drivers always aim to please and often go beyond their duties to make guests happy including offering small complimentary detours whenever possible. In your case, the driver repeatedly tried to accommodate your wishes; however, many of the “short stops” you requested were actually additional destinations located within a 50 km radius of each main site.
At one point, you even requested what you described as a “short stop to Aqaba”, despite the fact that the round-trip distance from Wadi Rum to Aqaba is approximately 120 km. While we always try to remain flexible, such extended side trips significantly increase driving time, fuel costs, and driver hours, and therefore require additional arrangements and fair compensation.
As for the driver’s behavior, our internal review confirmed that he remained professional, patient, and courteous throughout the tour even under constant changes and requests and followed the agreed itinerary carefully.
