If my travel dates are exceeded, is my airport transfer still free?

The airport transfer is your final destination at the time of schedule and if you choose a different date for which you will not arrive the same date at the airport due to any event, an additional fee will be charged.

If my travel dates are exceeded, how much is the cost per day for my accommodation?

Charges for additional accommodation will depend on the hotel categories you wish to stay in. We will work to provide the relevant facilities upon your request.

How do I change my itinerary during my journey?

You cannot change the itinerary that you have already agreed upon. But, you can change your pre chosen sightseeings in the itinerary according to your preferences. Furthermore, if you wish to stay at the hotel premises reserved for you in destination B instead of staying at the hotel premises reserved for you in destination "A", the hotel charges at destination "A " will not be refunded to you.

What are the best network connections in Sri Lanka covering all locations ?

To name a few of the network providers in Sri Lanka, Dialog, Mobitel, Airtel and Hutch are well known. Sri Lanka's most popular and largest network providing partner is dialog. But what is more appropriate for a traveller, as of the best coverage is Hutch. On arrival, travellers can buy sim cards from the counters in the airport according to their preference.

How much does food cost and is it too spicy?

From a standard restaurant, lunch/dinner buffet or an ala carte can be bought for around 10$-12$. Rice along with Sri Lankan cuisines are available in plenty of shops much cheaper than standard restaurants but those are too spicy.

Can I pay foreign currency for archaeological sites and national parks entrances?

Major archaeological sites such as Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura accept foreign currency and all national parks only accept Sri Lankan currency. So you can avoid inconveniences by having both currencies with you.

What is the best place to change my foreign currency?

Mainly you can change from any bank at the airport arrival terminal and authorized agencies in major cities.

Can I use my credit or debit cards for local sites?

It is very difficult. Card payments cannot be made at any local sites controlled by the government agencies. For example, Elephant Orphanage/National parks, Sigiriya fortress etc. Card payments can only be made at certain stations for tourism activities promoted by private agencies. The best way is keeping cash on hand.

The hotels were all very nice, especially those located directly by the sea – waking up to the sound of the ocean was simply amazing. Sri Lanka is a beautiful and diverse country, and we were able to see and experience a lot during our journey. From lush landscapes and ancient temples to vibrant cities and peaceful beaches, the variety truly impressed us. A special thanks goes to Mr. Manjula, our driver. He is not only a very skilled and safe driver but also incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of his country. Payment information
- For any tour departing before April 20th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 20th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with showlanka tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and showlanka tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "showlanka tours" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
