Back in 1989, two guys from Melbourne, Australia by the names of Darrell and Manch set off on an adventure to the other side of the world. They travelled to Africa and without air conditioning on their modified truck, they filled it with supplies, some beer, a bunch of aviator sunglasses, and some friends. On that trip, they came up with the idea that perhaps others may be interested in this style of travel too. Just like that, Intrepid was born. They use local transport, sleep in local accommodation from Cambodian stilt houses to Moroccan riads, and employ 100% local leaders. - Are the flights included?
We specialise in giving you the best tours from around the world, however the tours we offer do not include airfare and we do not book or advise on airfare. You will be responsible for booking your flights to meet with the group at the starting city. We do not recommend booking airfare before confirming your tour.
- Can I leave the tour early?
You can leave the tour early, however, the price would not change.
- What is the age range?
The age range for this tour is 15 and above. Those under 15 will be unable to participate on this tour, and under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. There are no upper age limits, and this tour attracts all ages! Intrepid's appeal is diverse, which is why it's all about your shared attitude, not age.
- Does this tour provide meals?
There are 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner included in the price of this tour. Our website states that some meals are included, not all however. It is much better this way as it gives you plenty of freedom to try the local foods and it is very cheap to do so in the cities that this tour visits.
- Can you help us with our visas if needed?
Unfortunately we are unable to give visa advice due to the vast number of nationalities which our customers represent. Some nationalities can travel freely over borders, where others require advance permission to enter. There are also changes in requirements from time to time. We recommend checking your local embassy or consulate's website for the latest up to date information.
