Day 1: Arrive Chennai
9am. embark on a city tour of Chennai visiting Fort St. George, St Mary Church inside the fortress, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Vadapalani Murugan Temple, Government Museum, Dakshinachitra Museum, Santhome Cathedral & Marina Beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (240kms)
7.30am After early breakfast, drive to Pondicherry via Kanchipuram, an ancient city famous for its temples, and Mahabalipuram, known for its Monolithic Temples, Krishnas Butterball, Cave Temples, Shore Temple & The Arjuna Penance. On arrival in Pondicherry, check in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Pondicherry
9/ 10am After breakfast, visit Auroville, an experimental township, and the Pondicherry Museum. Drive through the stunning French Quarters, which includes the French consulate, Raj Nivas, Government Square, Churches & French schools. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Gangaikonda Cholapuram - Darasuram - Thanjore (180kms)
7.30am After breakfast, drive to Thanjavur via Chidambaram Nataraja Temple and The Great Living Chola Temples at Gangaikonda Cholapuram & Darasuram. On arrival in Thanjavur, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Thanjore
9/ 10am After breakfast, visit Brihadeshwara Temple & Palace Complex, built by the great Chola king in the 10th century. Spend the rest of the day exploring the nearby villages. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Thanjore - Trichy - Madurai (190kms)
8/ 9am After breakfast, drive to Madurai via visiting Trichy Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Rock Fort Temple & Jambukeshwara temple. On arrival in Madurai, check in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Madurai - Chennai (Flight)
9am After breakfast, visit Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayakar Palace, Alagar Koil, Tiruparankundram Murugan Temple & Palamuthirsolai Murugan Temple. Later, transfer to the airport to board your flight back to Chennai. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Chennai - Departure (Flight)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel (standard check out time 11am) and transfer to the airport for your onward flight back home.
