First of all, regarding your booking, it was a last-minute reservation, and we made special efforts to accommodate several specific requests from your side. As you were traveling as a solo guest and preferred not to travel privately due to cost, we arranged for you to join an existing group. This was organized with your prior approval, and the group tour schedule began on the same day for all participants. It was not modified on the day of your arrival without notice.
Concerning the local SIM card, it was indeed included in your package. Unfortunately, there was a delay due to an activation issue with the telecom provider, which required passport verification and reprocessing. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused, but it was not an intentional delay or refusal.
Regarding the role of the tour escort, our group tours operate with a tour coordinator/logistic assistant alongside the driver. Their primary responsibility is to ensure smooth operations, timing, hotel coordination, and ticket arrangements. For in-depth historical explanations at sites, licensed local guides are available at major monuments and heritage locations. We understand that expectations may differ, and we regret if this was not aligned with what you had anticipated.
About the train experience, we truly understand your disappointment. Train tickets in Sri Lanka are extremely limited and subject to availability, particularly during high season. In addition, due to the cyclone in December, part of the main train line was temporarily not operating. As a result, the originally planned route was unavailable. An alternative train line option was offered to you; however, we understand this was not the experience you had hoped for. While we always try our best to accommodate such requests, confirmation cannot be guaranteed in advance, especially for last-minute bookings.
With regard to entrance fees and activity costs, these are excluded from the package price to keep the base tour cost competitive and transparent. The approximate total amount is generally communicated in advance. We understand your feedback that having a clearer total estimate beforehand would have made planning easier, and we will certainly take this into consideration for future improvements.
As for hotel allocation, during peak travel periods it is sometimes necessary to use more than one property for the same group due to availability constraints. All hotels are selected according to the confirmed category, and we regret if any property did not meet your expectations.
