  This was a truly unforgettable adventure both in terms of the scale of the adventure and scenery as well as the organization and quality of guiding. The hikes averaged 15km per day with varying elevation, all with the backdrop of some incredible scenery. The hiking can be completed by anyone with a basic level of fitness, but the scenery and local stories are enough to keep hikers of all experienced engaged and entertained. With no forests to block any views, there were always incredible views to behold. Our guide, Motaz, really made the trip with his calm, kind nature and enthusiasm for sharing the history of his land. He never rested as he set about creating a range of wonderful experiences for us to enjoy - in particular the candle setup at our campsite will love long in the memory. The company provided excellent support - particularly when heavy rains closed part of the trail. They swiftly made alternate arrangements for both hiking and accommodation to ensure our group of hikers could still get out on some wonderful trails each and every day. The food was simple, tasty and plentiful and water was never an issue. The camping tents had comfortable mattresses and plenty of blankets to keep us warm in the cold desert nights, as did the permanent tents in the Bedouin campsites we visited (one which included a delicious meal cooked buried under the ground). Besides the hiking, our 4WD tour in Wadi Rum (and the subsequent sunset), as well as a wonderful day relaxing at a Dead Sea resort were absolute highlights. We felt entirely safe and welcome in Jordan for the duration of the trip - not just with our guide and the Bedouin support teams, but with everyone we encountered. This tour is a real adventure which builds to wonderful climaxes in both Petra and Wadi Rum.Show more

  This was one of the most amazing trips we’ve ever taken. Our group included 5 couples and 4 singles — 7 men and 7 women from 9 countries (I counted our Kiwi living in London as two!). Ages ranged from the 20s to the 70s, and by the end, we all felt like lifelong friends. We chose Experience Jordan because their program looked challenging but not grueling — and it was exactly that. From our first inquiry, Shushan was wonderfully responsive, answering all our questions. They arranged a smooth pickup from our hotel. Our guide, Motaz, was exceptional: warm, knowledgeable, and endlessly patient. He built instant rapport with the group, helped my wife through some of the steeper sections, and kept everyone safe, hydrated, and well-fed. His commentary on geology, geography, and history turned every stop into a lesson — like showing how the Bedouins make cosmetics from stones and soap from plants. The itinerary was perfectly paced. Each day offered incredible views and rewarding hikes, followed by comfortable, well-organized camps. Our tents were ready on arrival, with real pillows, thick foam mattresses, and warm blankets — quite cozy in the 12–15°C nights of late September. After changing out of hiking gear, we’d relax with tea around the campfire and watch the sunset — pure magic. Meals were simple but fresh and satisfying. Every day began with breakfast and a “build-your-own” lunch bag, and ended with hearty dinners of soup, salad, and chicken or vegetable mains. Fresh fruit and vegetables were always available, and we all appreciated the tea and treats (dates, cookies) served along the trail. Our luggage was always waiting for us at camp, allowing us to hike light each day. Everything ran flawlessly. The Experience(d) Jordan team has their logistics perfected — nothing ever felt rushed or uncertain. This trip exceeded our highest expectations and stands out as one of the highlights of our travels (we’ve visited over 80 countries). I would recommend this trip without hesitation to anyone in decent shape. I was the oldest in our group (age 70), and running 4 miles a few times a week was good preparation. This group was exceptional. Nobody knew anyone else at the start, but the camaraderie that developed was truly special. I cannot say that Experience Jordan created all of that, but they certainly attracted the right people for the right reasons and gave us the right environment to make that happen. (Luck? Maybe, but luck favors the prepared.) It was a truly unforgettable adventure — one we’ll be talking about for years to come.Show more

  Very well-organized trip, responsive staff. We were lucky to have Ahmad as our driver—he didn’t just drive us around. He knows the country, its history, and tourist sites very well, and he provided us with lots of information throughout the journey. He is professional, punctual, well-mannered, welcoming, kind, generous, and helpful. I’m sure he goes above and beyond what is expected—he offered us coffee, tea, water, and local specialties every day. I even received a surprise birthday cake to celebrate with the group—it was a lovely moment. Thank you again for this thoughtful gesture, I truly appreciated it. We had an excellent guide for the Petra day tour named Mahmoud (a friend of Ahmad). He was born in Petra and still lives there—you can’t get a better guide, he’s simply the best. He knows the area extremely well, so he helped us save a lot of energy while still seeing as much as possible. He took us on the tour in reverse of the usual route, so we had more downhill walking than uphill. He was professional, friendly, and very kind. A beautiful day and night in Wadi Rum at Rainbow Camp with Mohamed. After a jeep ride and a stunning desert sunset, Mohamed prepared tea for us on the spot, accompanied by delicious pastries. It was a magical night under the stars at the camp. Points for improvement in the itinerary: The hotel in Petra is functional, but I think the agency could make an effort to change it to a better one. Half a day at the Dead Sea is too short. After the swim, we had to return to the hotel in Amman, which was tiring. Personally, I booked an extra night at the Dead Sea at my own expense (thanks to Ahmad for the suggestion), instead of going back to Amman—so that was one pre-booked night lost. The same goes for the last day in Aqaba—it’s too short. After snorkeling, we had to head back to Amman in the evening, which was exhausting.Show more
