please keep an eye out on our website, we will update the tours availability (as a general rule of thumb there is only one small group tour per year, and Myths & Legends of Transylvania happens in October before Halloween; tentative dates for 2025: 6-17 October, 12 days 11 nights)

When can I plan for this trip and please advise the total cost with a single room supplement?

This trip runs with a minimum of 2 people. For 7-18 Oct 2024 dates, the price is $2600 + $500 single supplement per person. Chances are currently low for group booking.

Is this tour available between September 7th and the 19th?

Unfortunately, this tour won't be running between the dates you mentioned. We do have other group tours for other dates so please let me know if I should send those over.

Will you be running the Tour Myths and Legends of Transylvania in September 2023 and if so what start and finish Date.

We have 2 open dates for our Myths and Legends of Transylvania 2023: July 18-28 and Oct 9 - 20. These spots are filling up quickly, as we have a max 6 people capacity per tour, to make sure we keep the experience personal and the high level of attention and interaction we are known for. The tour runs with a min of 2 people, so if you are sure about it we can make it happen.

In July 2022, I spent a delightful 11 days on the “Myths and Legends of Transylvania” tour offered by Romanian Thrills. Romanian Thrills does not offer “ordinary” tours. Their tour groups are small - very small - usually with a 6-person maximum, although they can tailor a tour for larger groups. The co-owners Vlad Blaj and Georgiana Ancai focus on sustainable tourism. Their vast knowledge and small group emphasis enable them to take you to lesser-known “hidden gems” (like seeing Copsa Mare fortress and staying in a restored historic home in town) as well as better-known destinations such as Bran Castle, Viradru Lake, and the Libearty Bear Sanctuary. Their itinerary included plenty to enjoy and adequate time to relax. But flexibility was built in too - a later morning start, an added visit to a site of special interest, a wine tasting in a castle basement. And the “Myths and Legends of Transylvania” tour included several surprises … I won’t spoil them. Whether you go on a half-day walking tour or a two-week trip through the country, you will be glad you chose Romanian Thrills. From my first inquiry to our continuing sharing of photos and stories post-trip, Romanian Thrills responded in a prompt, professional, and organized way. This was my first trip to Europe, and it will probably be my only visit there. What a memorable, long-anticipated experience. It exceeded my expectations and I expected a great deal! I can’t think of any better tour guides or personal ambassadors for Romania.Show more

If you are planning a trip to Romania take this tour with Vlad and Georgiana. Five stars are not enough to adequately rate how happy my wife and I were during our tour. This past summer we spent about 10 weeks traveling through Europe, beginning in Amsterdam and ending in Bucharest. Our travels included two river cruises as well as a small group tour before we visited Romania. We both agree that our time spent touring with Romanian Thrills was the highlight of our adventure. The accommodations were excellent both in location and quality. The itinerary was outstanding as were the meals and transportation. However, even beyond that the insights into Romania's culture and history coupled with the detail information provided during site visits was the most outstanding part of an outstanding trip. We recommend these tours to anyone and hope to return to see more of this beautiful country soon. And when we return, we plan to travel again with Romanian Thrills.Show more

Came to Romania in search of vampires and ghost stories but it ended up being so much more than that. Vlad and Georgiana created an itinerary just for me and my friends which included the Peles, Bran and Corvinilor castles and a lot of small villages around Transylvania (fortified churches and citadels of former Saxon population). There was a lot of interaction with the locals and I think Romanians are very friendly people. My favorite part of the tour was a medieval battle training workshop we did at Rupea citadel. There was a costumed medieval knight that showed us sword technique and we got to clad ourselves in armour and try different weapons people used to wear in battle hundreds of years ago. I guess it was just boys being boys but in the coolest place possible: Transylvania!Show more

As a Belgian I didn't know much about Romania. Transylvania seemed this far far away fairy land. I was skeptical about going on this tour at first but boy am I happy I did. I was blown away by the beauty of Transylvania and all the people I met there. The tour made me want to go back to Romania and visit other regions as well. Vlad and Georgiana are wonderful people, really passioned about what they do. They are always smiling and I felt like they were some old friends rather than just tour guides. I can’t recommend them enough.Show more
