How physically fit do I have to be to do this tour?

Some travellers will find the hills on the hikes challenging, while more athletic people will not find them particularly difficult. It is important to note that weather conditions like heat, humidity, and rain can change trail conditions and the intensity of the activity. Don't worry though the trip leaders are fantastic at keeping you challenged while also looking after your safety and the hikers who like to take their time.

What food can I expect on the tour?

If you are not aware Costa Rica is home to some of the best tropical fruit in the world! You will not want to miss trying some of the freshest mango, pineapple, papaya, guanabana, or lychees that you have ever tasted. This amazing country is also famous for its delicious, fresh seafood and of course their traditional dish, gallo pinto!

Can I connect with fellow travellers before the tour begins?

As soon as your booking is confirmed, a representative of Under30Experiences will invite you to join a unique Facebook Group where you can meet your fellow travellers.

I am travelling solo, will I share a room with another traveller?

If you are travelling solo you will get to share a room with another traveller of the same gender. The tour is designed for young people who want to connect with each other and make friends from around the world.

What is included in the tour cost?

The tour includes all accommodation, breakfasts and dinners, daily transportation, airport pickup and drop-off, entertainment, local guides and Under30Experiences staff.

Do you have any optional activities on this tour?

On this tour, you will get to experience a few different activities including a surf lesson or salsa dancing. These activities can be arranged once you are on the tour for an additional cost.

Are airport transfers included?

Arrival and departure airport transfers are included in the tour price, to organise these please contact us once you have a confirmed booking.

When should I book my flights?

In regards to booking flights it's important to plan on arriving on the first day by 1:00 pm and plan to depart on the last day after 1:30 pm.

Overall a great trip and good value for money. The optional activities were fantastic, especially the jungle hikes and adventures. It would have been nice to actually go into Manuel Antonio National park though. Absolutely no issues with transportation and all the meals were AMAZING. The accommodation was pretty average but clean and in a good location. In the end I would recommend doing this tour as an intro and then extending your trip to see other parts of Costa Rica.Show more

My husband and I were looking for an adventurous tropical trip out of the country without the headache of planning and this was exactly what we wanted!! We did all of the optional activities and loved every one of them. It was so great having all the transportation and lodging arranged so that we didn't have to worry about a thing but were able to pack A LOT into one week. We flew from WI which was a 5.5 hour flight. We decided to arrive a day early in order to be rested and showered before our first day with the group and I'm so glad we did. Our guides Emily and Angelo were so friendly and welcoming. It really felt like they were just along on the trip with us. Highly recommend this trip - it was everything we were hoping for and more!Show more

Went on the Stater Costa Rica trip this time last year. I had never traveled solo, I had never been to Central America, and I had really no idea what to expect. This trip blew any expectations I had out of the water. Prior to the trip you get invited to a private facebook group with other members going on your same trip, this helped to ease nervousness I had about meeting a dozen or so new people. Jonno and Jurgen were phenomenal guides. They made sure that any question I - or anyone else on the trip had - was answered. They immediately felt like life long friends I had not seen in a while, rather than two tour guides I just met. When booking the trip I was curious why it was hard to find a set day-by-day itinerary for the trip, and that turned out to be because, there isn't one. Once on the trip it is highly customizable for what you do day-by-day and night-by-night contingent upon what the group - or a portion of the group want to do. The starter Costa Rica managed to combine the perfect ratio of relaxation and adventure in a vacation I was looking for. While on this trip we were offered the option of taking a yoga class with Luz at her and Matt's (the co-founder of U30x) home. They were beautiful, warm, inviting people who were genuinely interested in getting to know everyone they encountered. Once you return home from your trip there are lots of resources provided by U30x such as facebook groups and local U30x communities there to keep the adventure rolling and keep you engaged. This isn't just a tour company, but a company with a culture dedicated to connecting with its patrons and making them feel included and involved - both in "far away lands", and again once they return home. And that more than the trip itself is what will have me continue booking U30x trips.Show more
