  I wish to visit a part of the Central Rongbuk Glacier, which has particular scientific interest for me. Specifically, I would like to visit the medial moraine, at latitude 28.050816°, longitude 86.881547°, and the sections of the medial moraine approximately 500 metres to the north and south.

    I plan to travel alone. I'm flexible about the itinerary to Tibet; a possible option is Turkish Airlines to and from Kathmandu, and Himalaya Airlines to and from Lhasa. The date is also flexible; could be as early as October 2026, otherwise spring 2027. I specifically want to visit the point at latitude 28.050816°, longitude 86.881547° on the medial moraine of the Central Rongbuk Glacier.

    I should mention that I'm seventy-eight years old, and in excellent health. At this stage I would just like to ask whether the periods of acclimatisation are sufficient. I note that on Day 2 the route is from Kathmandu (4300 feet) to Gyirong (8900 feet) - an increase of 5600 feet in one day; and on Day 4 (Gyirong to Tingri) there is another increase of about 6000 feet. Are there any precautions or training that might prevent or mitigate altitude sickness? Or are intermediate stops advisable or possible? And in the event of altitude sickness, what's the procedure?

    Yes, we could organize your trip as per your request with in our groups. You will be leaving the group on the 6th day morning from Lhasa instead of returning back to Kathmandu via road. You also visit EBC on they way to Lhasa acclimatizing the altitudes. They price would be the same. You need to pay na extra for the train ticket or issue on your own and send it to us before issuing all the permits as Tibet is restricted.

    i read the website and someone ask same question and your company write you must have minimum 4 people booking for the tour to be guaranteed so how can this tour be guaranteed now when you don't have 4 people booked in?

    Yes, May is high season we always have groups as we have only once a week departure from Kathmandu, we collect from different agencies so it wont be a problem.

    We have a fixed departure on 30 May 2026. As an Australian passport holder, you do not need a Chinese visa, but a Tibet group visa is required and will be processed with the group in Kathmandu. Please arrive 3–5 working days in advance.

    Hello I was planning on joining a G Adventure tour which starts from India and finishes in KAthmandu on May 30 and then I would hop onto your tour straight away to Tibet. But you advise above that I need to be in Kathmandu 3-5 days prior to obtain the visa. Is there any way I can obtain the visa earlier or without me being there 3-5 days prior? If this is not possible I would have to stay in Kathmandu until June 6th and join your 6th June tour. Is this 6th June tour guaranteed departure also?

    If you arrive in Nepal on 27th or 28th May, you can join our Tibet tour starting on 30th May, which departs very early at 5:00 AM from Kathmandu. If you arrive on 30th May, you will need to wait for the next Saturday. Yes, we do have a fixed departure on 6th June as well.

    The other tour visits Chitwan first on 25th May, then goes to Pokhara and arrives in Kathmandu afternoon of 29th May. Will I be able to make the 30 May tour and get the Tibet visa done as well?

    As per my previous message, I don't arrive in Kathmandu until afternoon of 29th May. My other tour goes to Chitwan and Pokhara directly from India without going to Kathmandu until the end at 29th May. Therefore will there be a problem with getting the visa for 30th May departure?

    You do not need to arrive 4–5 days earlier. Instead, you only need to complete an online form and provide a copy of your passport. Since you will already be in Nepal on 25 May, you will be able to join the fixed departure group on 30 May.

    So to clarify our previous conversations: (1) the 30th May 2026 tour is guaranteed departure so I can book now with confidence (2) I can still attend the 30th May 2026 tour and obtain Tibet visa even though I arrive in Kathmandu on 29th May, because I enter Nepal via Chitwan on 25th May. I have 2 more questions, if I book by myself do I get the single private room? The tour radar booking system is not very clear as it says private single room but in details it says it is shared accommodation. Also does this tour include return bus from Lhassa back to Kathmandu? I am unsure because tour radar website says this tour does not include flight back from Lhassa to Kathmandu, so does it include bus back?

    Yes, the 30th May 2026 departure is guaranteed, and you can book with full confidence. Yes, this is not a problem. As you will arrive in Kathmandu on 29th May, you will be able to start the tour on 30th May as scheduled. If I book by myself, will I get a private single room? Yes, you will receive a private single room. A single supplement is required for this service. Tour Radar shows a private single room, but in the details, it mentions shared accommodation. What does this mean? If you are willing to share accommodation, you do not need to pay the single supplement. If you prefer a private room, the single supplement applies. Does this tour include the return journey from Lhasa back to Kathmandu? Yes, this is a Tibet Overland Tour, which means both the onward and return journeys are by land. The return from Lhasa to Kathmandu by bus or jeep is included. The TourRadar website says the flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu is not included. Does the tour include a bus instead?     Yes, we can organize your trip to Tibet starting on 10 January, we need to have 4 people in total with in one month of time, i can let you know until 20 of Dec. if we have formed group or not, without group they do not issue visa, minimum 4 people in total.

    You may need to arrive minimum 3 working official days before your departure to apply the visa / permits in Chinese Embassy. You are not allow to have chinese visa for Tibet Travel, they have special Tibet Visa in paper, they even cancel chinese visa in case if you have in advance. We do all the paper works including all the Tibet permits with your scanned copy of your passport and visa on arrival here at Chinese Embassy on your arrival.

    Yes, for now it is good enough sending a passport copy, but for visa we need your original passport for 3 complete working days, monday to friday. The latest you could be in kathmandu is before 10 am on 17 Dec. We also need 4 people minimum in a group, as Dec is off season not sure if we will have enough people for the date, if there are not enough people the tour will be postponed for the next saturday as per the group size.

  I am looking for 27th September to join your tour as a single traveller. 1. I plan to arrive 21/22. September in Kathmandu. Would this be enough for the Visa? Do I need a Chinese Visa as well or is this Visa enough? 2. are there enough people for the tour at this date? 3. On day 7 in the description there are sights in Lhasa to be visited but at the same time a 8-9hours drive to shelkar and on day 8 in the description there is a 9-10h drive from shelkar to kerong/Kathmandu. Could you please specify: I would like to return by car. Does this mean that day 7 there are no sights, but a drive back to shelkar? 4. unfortunately I will know in 3-4 weeks if I can book this tour. Is this still ok? 5. are there any additional costs but single room (195) and visa fee (125)?
