We enjoyed seeing the Meteora Monasteries and a tour was the best way. Parts of the tour were well organized: pick ups and guide. Parts were not: there was delay and confusion the first day at pick up. We were informed that the next day was a holiday in Greece and our tour for that day got cancelled. This should have been known in advance. We did get a refund immediately. We were put in a 4star hotel in a sketchy area of town. Hotel good; area not. The guide was knowledgeable and managed to keep everyone together. There were a few audio devices with dead batteries and no replacements available. The original itinerary would have been great if not for the cancelled day.Show more

We enjoyed most of the trips that were provided on the tour. We really enjoyed the Meteora tour. I thought this was a group tour, and was surprised to find out that this tour is actually a bunch of different trips put together by different providers and then lumped as the classical tour of Greece. Our tour guide for Athens and Meteora was Dimitira, she was very knowledgeable and loved her interpretation on a lot of different subjects related to Acropolis and Meteora. There are some things that I did not enjoy or appreciate - coffee and bathroom breaks - the bus driver took us to designated places of their choice, which can accommodate the number of people coming through and there were other buses at these places too. At one of the coffee stops on our way to meteora, there was a sweet cat waiting in front of the coffee store and would greet all the people coming through, I was really sad to see this store did not even put any accommodations for her, i did not think she was a stray as she was there at the same place on both days - there was not even a box for her to protect her from the heat, clean water bowl or some dry cat food for her, all the tourists loved her and we all her petted her, but she was quite skinny probably relying on scraps that the tourists gave her. So if you are going to take this tour, please take some cat food for her, i hope she is okay..and still greeting tourists. On our way to Meteora, we stopped for lunch at a designated place. It felt that this place was all about how much money they could make from the tourists, and the server even made a comment when we did not order more of the limited vegetarian options that they offered - "you are not eating food, you are eating bread" he says. Not appropriate! i would have appreciated the choice to go other restaurants in the village. The accommodations were ok. The food on the cruise was good.Show more
