    Asked on February 2nd, 2026

Does the Sicily Grand tour Walking and Hiking include a hike on Mt. Etna?

    Tour Details
    • Caspin JourneysOperatorWritten February 2026

We do not climb Etna any more. We used to, but we found that it was always tuch and go weather we could go up on the day so we have decided no longer to do this.

What we do now instead, which we think is much more exciting, is climb up the vulvano on the island of Vulcano, when we go to the Aeolian island. We go all the way up to the crater, which is a fantastic experience, with just unbelievable views of all the islands around. We also climb to the top of Panarea, the other aeolian island we go to, and spend two nights on. This is technically another vulcano as well, although the heart of the caldera is actually under water.

Do you still have any availability for the 10/19/25 departure date? We were hoping to join the early Oct trip but see it is already sold out...do you get cancellations?

    • Caspin JourneysOperatorWritten January 2025

Unfortunately there is only 1 space left on the 10/19/2025 departure, and it sounds like you might be 2? All our other Sicily tours for 2025 are fully booked as well. I can put you on a waitlist, but to be perfectly honest we rarely get cancellations.

    Asked on October 12th, 2022

Could you please have a list of the hotels where the tour would be staying.

    Accommodation
    • Caspin JourneysOperatorWritten October 2022

We will be staying in: Erice 2 nights, Agrigento 2 nights, Siracusa 2 nights, Taormina 2 nights, Panarea or Ragusa Ibla 2 nights, and Castelbuono 2 nights. We do not disclose the exact hotels until we send out joining information. All hotels have clean and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms; most with air-conditioning. Some are 4 star hotels, others are good 3 star or small boutique style hotels. Our aim is to give you an authentic experience and bring you into contact with locals as much as possible.
