Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito to Cotopaxi National Park
Meet your guide early in Quito, then drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes heading toward Cotopaxi National Park. After breakfast, you'll check out the Interpretation Center to learn about the volcano's ecosystem and local wildlife. The morning involves hiking around Limpiopungo Lake or the Rinconada camping zone, which gives you good opportunities for bird watching and clear views of the volcano. Later in the day, you'll bike through volcanic landscape on dirt roads and forest trails before heading back to Machachi for the night.

- Day 2
Quilotoa Loop
Get picked up from Chuquiragua Lodge and head to Latacunga, then drive west through the Andes toward Quilotoa. You'll visit a local Indian market (either Saquisilí, Pujilí, or Zimbahua depending on the day) to experience Andean culture and see how locals trade and live. After that, trek down to the turquoise Quilotoa Lagoon, which sits inside a volcanic caldera, and you can explore the mineral-rich waters or hike around the rim if you prefer. Grab lunch at a local restaurant, then visit Tigua to see traditional art made with chicken feather brushes before returning to Quito.
