- Day 1
Rapid City to Hot Springs
Your shuttle from Rapid City takes you to Edgemont where the Mickelson Trail journey begins. After getting your bike fitted properly, you'll pedal the first leg to Pringle. By evening you're settled at Red Rock River Resort in Hot Springs, so there's time to soak in the pools before heading to a privately hosted dinner at Silk Road.

- Day 2
Hot Springs to Legion Lake
Start your morning at The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, where you'll see fossils from 61 woolly mammoths. From there, a shuttle takes you to Wind Cave National Park where you can explore one of the world's longest and most complex cave systems, learning about its discovery and importance to the Lakota people. After that, you're back on the Mickelson Trail cycling from Pringle to Legion Lake Lodge for the night.

Legion Lake to Sylvan Lake
The car-free trail leads you to Crazy Horse Memorial, the world's largest mountain carving, and you'll learn about this ongoing construction project that's funded entirely without government money. Continuing by bike to Hill City, you then get shuttled up to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Sylvan Lake Lodge in Custer State Park, which will be your home for the next two nights. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Sylvan Lake (Mt. Rushmore & Black Elk Peak)
This morning brings a hike up Black Elk Peak, the highest point in the Black Hills at 7,242 feet, where a stone fire tower offers views across the region. After lunch on your own, you'll head to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial to see the 60-foot presidential sculptures in the afternoon.

- Day 5
Hill City to Deadwood
You'll ride from Hill City to tiny Rochford, home to the Montezuma Mine and Moonshine Gulch Saloon, then grab lunch. From there you can choose to bike or hop in the van heading to Deadwood, the former home of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Spend time exploring this historic gold rush town at your own pace before checking into Holiday Inn Express Gold Dust.

- Day 6
Spearfish Canyon to Rapid City
A leisurely morning ride takes you through Spearfish Canyon with its 1000-foot walls and limestone palisades that predate the Grand Canyon. You'll finish at the city park in Spearfish where lunch marks the end of your tour, followed by a return shuttle to Rapid City in the afternoon.
