Can the Yangtze Cruise be excluded? Can the tour include: Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Terracotta Warriors, a brief Great Wall visit, Longmen Grottoes cruise, pandas (with or without keeper experience), rice fields, traditional non-touristy experiences, and cooking opportunities? Is there relaxation time outside scheduled tours?

    Tour Details
    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

We are able to operate this tour with a finish in Chengdu, which means the Yangtze River cruise would not be included. This tour covers many of China's iconic highlights, including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Terracotta Warriors, a visit to the Great Wall, the Longmen Grottoes, and time with the giant pandas in Chengdu. The itinerary offers a well-balanced mix of key tourist sites and authentic local cultural experiences. On arrival in Shanghai, the remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore independently. There is also free time on the morning of Day 2 prior to the flight to Beijing. In Beijing, evenings are generally at leisure following scheduled activities, allowing you time to dine independently or explore the city at your own pace. Similarly, in Chengdu, there is a free evening after the visit to the Leshan Giant Buddha, which many guests enjoy using to unwind, visit local tea houses, or explore the city independently. Most sightseeing days are structured to ensure you experience the key highlights of China within the time available; however, the overall pace is designed to be balanced, with free evenings and selected periods of personal time throughout the tour.

  • B

    Becky

    Asked on January 23rd, 2026

Could you please confirm if the tour is booked for only 2 travelers, and clarify what happens if there are fewer than 6 travelers after day 8 regarding the tour guide? Is there an option to have a tour guide involved beyond this point? Additionally, please advise if a tour guide will still be available from day 1 to day 8 for groups with fewer than 6 travelers.

    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

If the tour guarantees (with 2) but doesn't reach 6 people after day 8, you will still have local guides in each city - you just won't be accompanied by the same guide throughout.
