Just completed the 9-day The Balkans Real Food Adventure with Intrepid. This was my first trip with Intrepid and probably will be my last. Apparently, the trip used to be longer, and now it is condensed into just 7 days. This made for very long days, leaving at 0800 in the morning and arriving at the hotel in the evening. There was hardly any time to visit or explore the cities we stayed in and we spent a huge amount of time in the bus driving through the Balkan countries of Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. I sincerely enjoyed our tour guide Kristina - who was knowledgeable about the area and the Balkan's complex history. But, I did not get that she had much expertise in food or being able to talk about food in an intellectual way. Some of the spots that we visited (olive oil farm, bee keeper, and mussel/oyster found) were stimulating and interesting, but most of the time we just ate out and nothing was ever really explained to use that helped us understand food in this area of EuropeShow more

For tours departing after May 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
