Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with booking international flights. However, you can book your flights independently. Regarding your visa question, Australian passport holders can currently enter China visa free for tourism purposes for up to 30 days. However, entry requirements can change, so we recommend checking the latest advice with the Chinese Embassy or official government sources before travelling. Accommodation upgrades are not available, as the group stays together in the same hotels throughout the trip. Regarding vegetarian meals, you should have plenty of options available throughout China. There are usually a variety of meat-free dishes on menus, including vegetables, tofu, and egg-based meals, and your trip leader will be able to recommend local favourites.

Does the single room have a 1.35 meter double bed?

If purchasing the single supplement, the rooms may still have two twin beds similar to our regular room-sharing rooms. However, we can often request double bed rooms with our local team where possible.

We are interested in the 8 day tour of China (Shanghai, Xian and Beijing) in March or April 2026. We want to know what kind of hotels will be booked (is it 4 star or 5 star) and also we want to know whether entrance fees are included in the price and whether air fare can be arranged from Washington d.c. and if this is available how much extra will it be.

Since this is an original style trip, in most locations we stay in simple tourist-class hotels (i.e. 2-3 stars). Also, once the booking is confirmed, we will be able share a link for airfares, where you can make get a suitable quote according to your requirements. Included activities are Wuxi - Huishan Ancient Town, Wuxi - Jichang Garden, Xi'an - Muslim Quarter Walking Tour and Snack Sampling, Xi'an - Terracotta Warriors Tour, Great Wall - Sunset, Great Wall - Jinshanling section, Beijing - Forbidden City, Beijing - Tiananmen Square.

What I will say is that this Tour is 'full on'. There were days when we didn't have time to eat anywhere and had to buy our breakfast, lunch and snacks the night before for travelling during the day. It was definitely pretty exhausting but so worth it to be able to see all the magnificent sights in Shanghai, X'ian and Beijing in such a short space of time. Highly recommend this tour.Show more

I think it would be beneficial to change the group meeting either early afternoon or after dinner so that people can see the Shanghai skyline at night For the sleeper train book whole section and then split the price so you can be with people you know.
