Landmarks Krems - Day 2
Krems to Dürnstein
Starting from Krems, you'll hike up into the vineyards toward a tower that offers views across the Danube, the city below, and the Göttweig monastery in the distance. From there, you'll cross the rolling hills to Fesslhütte, then continue on scenic trails down to the Dürnstein ruins. The final stretch takes you down to the Danube banks where you'll end the day.

Dürnstein to Weißenkirchen
Take the ferry from Dürnstein over to Rossatz, then head out hiking past Austria's largest apricot growing area. You'll climb up to Seekopf for views of the Alps. If you want, there's an option to walk along the Danube through the orchards instead, passing through more of the fruit-growing landscape before catching the ferry for your final leg.

Weißenkirchen to Spitz
You'll follow the wine trail starting in Weißenkirchen, walking through small cellar alleys and winding upward into the unique wine region high above the Danube. After that, hike the World Heritage Trail through the heart of the Wachau, then descend into Spitz, a wine village famous for its Red Gate landmark. This route takes you through the heart of what makes this region special.
