    Asked on March 8th, 2026

The 2 of us have a fear of looking down from a cable car. Is it possible for 2 of us to go up and down Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by road? If not, can an activity be substituted at the foot of the mountain. For example, could we visit a Naxi family? Direct flights from Singapore (where we live) arrive and leave in the very early hours of the morning. Do you know of more convenient flights. Would you travel guide be able to meet us and send us off at odd hours?

    • UME Travel Co. LtdOperatorWritten March 2026

Regarding your question about the cable car at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, I will check the possibility to change other activities for you. Since it is currently the weekend, I will confirm the details with our local team on Monday and get back to you with a clear answer.

As for your flights, please don't worry. No matter what time your flight arrives or departs—even very early in the morning or late at night—we can always arrange a private driver to pick you up from or transfer you to the airport.

    • UME Travel Co. LtdOperatorWritten March 2026

The visit to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is scheduled in the morning, where guests will normally take the cable car for sightseeing.
If you prefer not to take the cable car, you may spend some free time taking photos at the popular photo spot near the parking area outside the scenic zone, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Alternatively, you can relax inside the scenic area, have a cup of coffee, and wait for the group while enjoying the surroundings.

      (1) If we do not go up Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, is it possible for you to arrange for 2 of us a visit to a Naxi family instead?
      (2) Is the cost of this group tour on 23-30 May confirmed at USD1563 per person? Are there additional costs such as gratuities, entry fees to tourist attractions, etc?
      (3) On 30 May, we would like to take a train from Lijiang back to Kunming. What are the convenient times of departure from Lijiang and arrival in Kunming? How long would this train journey take? Could you help us make the train booking? What would be the additional cost?
      (4) Would you be able to help us book a twin-bedded room for the night of 30 May in Kunming - at the same hotel that we stayed in earlier? What would be the additional cost?
      (5) Do you help or advise in international flight bookings before and after the Yunnan tour?
      (6) Can you confirm that the tour guide will be English-speaking?
      (7) Can you confirm that holders of Malaysian passports do not need a visa to visit China as tourists for less than 30 days?

    • UME Travel Co. LtdOperatorWritten March 2026

      (1) If we do not go up Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, is it possible for you to arrange for 2 of us a visit to a Naxi family instead?
Yes, we can arrange a private day tour. You would forgo the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain itinerary for that day, and we would refund the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain entrance fee of USD40 per person.
The additional cost for visiting a Mosuo/Naxi family is USD20 per person, plus a guide service fee of USD102 per day, a 5-seat car rental of USD138 per day, and a meal allowance for the driver and guide of USD10 per meal.
      Total additional cost: 20x2+102+138+10-40x2=USD210

      (2) Is the cost of this group tour on 23-30 May confirmed at USD1563 per person? Are there additional costs such as gratuities, entry fees to tourist attractions, etc
Our quotation does not include tips. The recommended tipping standard is 30 RMB per person per day for the driver and guide.
The included tickets are for Shilin (Stone Forest), Yuantong Temple, the Three Pagodas, the Eco Corridor electric cart, Zhou Cheng Tie-Dyeing, Lijiang Old Town Maintenance Fee, the Big Jade Dragon package ticket, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Songzanlin Monastery, Pudacuo, Tibetan family visits, and First Bend of the Yangtze River.
The entrance fee for Shuhe Ancient Town is not included (clients are responsible for their own ticket).

      (3) On 30 May, we would like to take a train from Lijiang back to Kunming. What are the convenient times of departure from Lijiang and arrival in Kunming? How long would this train journey take? Could you help us make the train booking? What would be the additional cost?
Our agency charges a ticketing service fee of USD 5 for booking train tickets.
The fastest train is C88 (3 hours 22 minutes), and the most economical is C124 (174 RMB).

      (4) Would you be able to help us book a twin-bedded room for the night of 30 May in Kunming - at the same hotel that we stayed in earlier? What would be the additional cost?
It is available for booking, and the price is USD65 per room per night.

      (5) Do you help or advise in international flight bookings before and after the Yunnan tour?
It is available, but international flight prices fluctuate quickly, and there will be a service fee for booking through us. We recommend booking on your own as it may be more cost-effective.

      (6) Can you confirm that the tour guide will be English-speaking?
The tour guide will be an English-speaking guide.

      (7) Can you confirm that holders of Malaysian passports do not need a visa to visit China as tourists for less than 30 days?
Malaysian tourists can enter China without a visa for up to 30 days (passport validity must exceed 6 months).
