- Day 1
Colombo
You'll arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and head to your hotel in Colombo to settle in. Once you've checked in, the evening is reserved for a city tour that takes you through several key landmarks. You'll see Galle Face Green and walk through Viharamahadevi Park, then visit the National Museum. The Fort district rounds out your introduction to the city with its historic colonial architecture and sites.

Pinnawala - Dambulla
After breakfast, you're heading inland toward Dambulla with a stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. You'll watch bathing and feeding demonstrations with the rescued elephants, which is quite something. Later, you'll drive to Dambulla Cave Temple, an impressive complex with five caves carved into a 160-meter rock. Inside are over 150 Buddha statues, and the site holds UNESCO World Heritage status.

Sigiriya - Minneriya
This morning starts with breakfast and then you're tackling Sigiriya Rock, an ancient fortress considered the Eighth Wonder of the World. The climb takes a few hours, but the views from the top are worth it. After you come back down, you'll head to Minneriya National Park for wildlife viewing. Depending on the season, you might see up to 300 elephants gathered around the old water tank during migration (June-September).

Village Tour - Spice Garden - Kandy
Following breakfast, you'll experience rural Sri Lanka firsthand with a village tour featuring paddy fields and bullock cart rides. You'll try traditional catamaran rides and watch a cooking demonstration, then have an authentic Sri Lankan lunch. After that, you head to a spice garden in Matale to learn about nutmeg, pepper, clove, cinnamon, and cardamom. By evening you'll be at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.

Kandy Tea Plantation - Royal Botanic Gardens
You'll start by visiting a tea plantation and factory with complimentary Ceylon tea tasting to understand what makes Sri Lankan tea special. Then you'll stop at a gem gallery to see how Sri Lankan gemstones are extracted and valued. The afternoon takes you to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Peradeniya, which has over 4,000 plant species including orchids and medicinal plants. Your day wraps up with a cultural dance show from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

After breakfast, you're heading to Kandy train station to board a scenic train journey to Nanu Oya station (which is closer to Nuwara Eliya). Once you arrive, you'll transfer to your hotel in what's essentially Sri Lanka's coolest city and have time to relax. Later you can take a city tour through Nuwara Eliya, checking out the market and visiting spots like Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Seetha Amman Temple.

Ella - Nine Arch Bridge - Ravana Falls - Thissamaharama
Traveling to Yala today with some scenic stops along the way. You'll see the Nine Arch Bridge, a historic structure built in 1921 using only stone and cement without any iron reinforcement. Then you stop at Ravana Falls, an 82-foot waterfall within the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary. Continuing on to Thissamaharama, you'll check into your accommodation and settle in for the night.

Yala National Park Safari - Bentota
This is an early start with a 4x4 safari into Yala National Park, bringing a breakfast pack along. The park is one of Sri Lanka's best wildlife destinations with one of the highest wildlife densities per square kilometer. After the safari wraps up, you'll transfer to Bentota beach resort and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the coast after the morning activity.

Bentota
Following breakfast, you'll explore the Madu River estuary on a boat safari navigating through 64 islands and experiencing fish therapy in the therapeutic waters. Next, you visit the Turtle Hatchery to see conservation efforts for sea turtles. The Madu River wetland covers 915 hectares with diverse ecosystems and seven tributaries, designated as a national sanctuary since 2006.
