It was an indescribably fascinating, intense and impressive trip. Our driver Anell and our guide Remi were very responsible and friendly towards us. Remi brought us very close to the culture and people we met through his knowledge. Anell, our driver, drove us the approx. 2000 km through Benin with great foresight and very safely through the country. We are a couple in our early 60's. The hotels were fine for us. We knew that we could not apply European standards. Everyone who goes on a trip like this should know this. The breakfast consisted of baguette, omelette, coffee, tea (partly instant coffee), butter, jam - all sufficient for a breakfast. Remi gave us the opportunity to get to know and enjoy real African cuisine. We were there to get to know the people, their way of life, culture and religions - especially the Vodun/Voodoo. We got so close to the people on this trip. We didn't feel like the "whites", but that we belonged in a spiritual way. We can only recommend this trip to others. Many thanks to Remi and Anell! Can you send the updated West circuit including Korup Forest, the chiefdoms, the foundation, the Dschang museum, the mountains, a French-speaking guide for 12-14 days? What is the budget for 3200 euros per person all inclusive except flights? For payment, is a deposit paid and the rest on site? What accommodation do you propose, notably at Korup national park?

  Korup National Park is currently temporarily closed and is not recommended for visitors at the moment. This park is located in the South-West region, near the border with Nigeria. Due to the security situation linked to the Ambazonian separatist conflict in this area, visits to this region are not currently possible. We propose an alternative itinerary: Day 1 Arrival in Yaoundé. Day 2 Yaoundé – Bertoua – Batouri – Yokadouma. Day 3 Yokadouma – Mambele – Petite Savane with 6 km hike to reach Petite Savane, camp installation, wildlife observation, dinner and night under tent. Day 4 Petite Savane dedicated to wildlife observation: gorillas, elephants, sitatungas, and other species. Day 5 Petite Savane – Petite Savane de Djangui, 9 km hike. Day 6 Djangui – Mambele hike back to bridge then road to WWF reception camp. Day 7 Mambele – Yokadouma – Batouri. Day 8 Batouri – Bertoua – Balamba. Day 9 Balamba – Bafia – Bangangté – Batoufam – Bandjoun, first visit to Batoufam, famous for its living museum in labyrinth form. Continuation to Bandjoun, one of the most prestigious Bamileke chiefdoms, known for its rich cultural heritage and museum. Day 10 Bandjoun – Bafoussam – Foumban – Koutaba. Visit to Foumban, cultural heart of the Bamoun Kingdom, home to the largest museum in Cameroon and one of the oldest royal palaces in the country. Foumban is also renowned for its craftsmanship: sculpture, copperwork and traditional art objects. Day 11 Koutaba – Bangangté – Bafia – Yaoundé. We strongly recommend traveling in December. From December 2-13, a major cultural festival is held in Foumban, within the Bamoun people in the West of Cameroon. This festival is a magnificent showcase of Bamoun culture through traditional dances, rituals, initiation ceremonies, traditional weddings, local crafts and many other cultural activities. The main festival days are December 11, 12 and 13.

  For the West circuit for 9 days from Yaoundé with 2 travelers with nights in pleasant hotels with balcony around 40 euros (25,000 FCFA) per room. Car rental, not a luxury car but pleasant. Is the driver also the local French-speaking guide or is a local guide also on the trip? Car fuel. Driver accommodation, food and salary. Agency fees. Our food for the two of us, we will see day after day on site. Museum visits. Ideally 2 beautiful hikes towards the beautiful mountains of the west. From December 11 to 13 at the BAMOUN festivities. My maximum budget is 1900 euros for 2 travelers on 9 nights 10 days, flights not included. The dates would be December 5 to 14.
