Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest to Brasov
You'll meet your guide at Bucharest North Railway Station around noon, then board the group train at 1 pm for the journey to Brasov. The train ride offers scenic views of the Prahova Valley and Carpathian Mountains as you travel through the landscape. Once you arrive in Brasov, a private transfer takes you to your hotel in the city center. After settling in, take a short walk to explore the medieval history of the city on your own.

- Day 2
Piatra Craiului National Park - Magura
After a short transfer from Brasov, you'll hike into Piatra Craiului National Park following well-maintained forest paths. By midday, you reach Cabana Curmatura where lunch includes local soup and apple pie, and you can enjoy views of the valley and canyon. From there, continue downhill through open hills and along the river, eventually reaching the Jurassic Zarnesti Gorge before arriving in the fairytale village of Magura. You'll settle into your traditional guesthouse for a two-night stay.

Magura - Bran Castle
Start with a gentle uphill hike from Magura through green pastures and farmland, moving into shady forests as you climb toward a hilltop with great views. Lunch happens at a scenic hillside spot where you can see a remote farmhouse below. The afternoon brings a steep 500-meter descent with fantastic views of Bran Castle. You have the choice to visit the castle from inside or just see it from outside. If you go inside, you'll explore the impressive 14th-century Gothic fortress, wander through its rooms and staircases, and check out the secret passages while taking in the Carpathian mountain views. A private transfer brings you back to the guesthouse afterward.

- Day 4
Piatra Craiului Mountains - Ciocanu
Today's hike takes you at the foot of the Piatra Craiului Mountains through pastoral landscape with pastures, sheepfolds, and forests. If you're visiting before September 15, you'll stop at a sheepfold to taste traditional Burduf cheese and learn about local cheese-making from your guide. The day ends in the charming scattered village of Ciocanu, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Ciocanu - Mountain Villages
After a hearty breakfast, you'll hike through picturesque villages where traditional customs and cultures are still part of everyday life. Along the way, you'll pass one of the oldest houses in the area, dating back nearly 200 years, and visit a small museum in a pretty building that covers the villages you're walking through. Depending on how the timing works out, you might visit one or two Orthodox churches before returning to the guesthouse. Meals here are home-cooked using the owner's traditional agriculture.

- Day 6
Bucegi Mountains Ridge Hike
The trek begins with a steady climb to the ridge top, passing Sherpa huts on the way to La Bisericuta where you'll find spectacular views of the Bucegi Mountains and Bangaleasa Valley. Take time to photograph and take in the sightseeing. You'll descend slowly into the valley below and enter Bucegi National Park. If you choose the longer hike option, you'll head to a second ridge and have lunch at Poiana Gutanu meadows with your packed lunch.

Bear Sanctuary - Vulcan Church - Bucharest
After a short transfer, you visit the bear sanctuary where guides share fascinating stories about the bears. Then comes an easy short hike to a fortified church, a remnant of Saxon heritage from 13th-century Transylvanian colonization. There you'll meet an enthusiastic young priest who explains the church's history and offers local specialties to taste. You then drive back to Bucharest with a stop to view the magnificent Peles Castle from outside, and your evening is free to spend as you wish in the capital.

You'll have breakfast at your hotel and then, depending on your flight schedule, explore Bucharest using the roadbook provided. The city blends medieval, Ottoman, neoclassical French, and communist-era influences, and between the two world wars it was known as the 'Eastern Paris'. This marks the end of your trip.
