I'm interested in this Portugal trip; however, I'm seeing 2 different prices for 1 vs 2 adults. I'd be travelling solo but okay sharing a room if needed. How much is the trip? Also, how many people are usually on the trip? What is their age range?

To answer your question on pricing, the difference you're seeing is due to Single Occupancy vs. Double Occupancy. While we don't offer a room-sharing service, we find that our guests really appreciate having their own private sanctuary to retreat to at the end of a busy day of exploring. I completely understand that the "single supplement" can feel like a bit of a hurdle when traveling solo. To help make this a bit easier for you, I'd like to offer a €250 discount on the total cost of your tour. We love having solo travelers on our trips, and I'd love to see you join this group.

I don't fly into Lisbon until Sunday 7 June, would it be possible to miss the first day and join the tour on the evening of 7 June?

Yeah that is no problem at all, what time would you arrive? The first night we are in Cascais and it's easy to either take a taxi (30 km) or take the train, what ever suits best. We can make sure our guide picks you up from the translation or meets you at the hotel when you come of the taxi.

How many people are signed up for the June 7 Portugal Explorer tour?

We have currently one person on this trip and we have 14 spaces available.

Are bags transported by the tour operator or the guests?

Our coaches have luggage compartments so the bags are with you on the coach and will be taken by the hotel from the coach to your room.

Is it possible there will be an opening or a second tour group for the Portugal Explorer Small Group Tour for May 17-23, 2026?

Unfortunately we do not have any accommodations available for a second tour, but we have spaces the week before and after, would that suit, or would you be able to change your flights?

Do you have special rates at the Maxime hotel for June 13 if we do the tour that starts on June 14?

What is the earliest that we could schedule a flight on the trips last day, June 20?

I am looking to see the dates available for this tour for February 2027. They are not listed on the website. Do you have any coming up at that time.

Is it possible to go to Fatima during this tour?

Our Portugal Explorer tours ends in Lisbon so you could always stay an extra night or two at the end of our tour and take in Fatima on your own time. It takes approx 1 hour and 20 mins journey time from Lisbon to Fatima.

How do you handle odd numbers especially if we want to travel and see things together?

there is on problem with uneven numbers is would not affect your trip. Even on the bus the seats are a row of two and one with the isle in between. So you can use set all in one line, chat away and have fun. It also does not effect the actives or sites, you are all travelling together, so all is good there. So you are one group during the duration of your trip. We have only one tour going at the same time and it's a small group with 15 passengers max, so it's one group without any splits.

The accommodations were in beautiful locations and within easy walking distance to the fantastic Portuguese restaurants. Our tour guide Fuego was incredibly knowledgeable and shared some fascinating historical stories on each place we visited. He was an absolute diamond. You are never going to see all the places and things we saw without doing a tour like this. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to show us historical sites that only the locals would know about. Each hotel, restaurant, attraction etc that we stopped at was remarkable (locally owned, in the family for generations). We saw out-of-the-way places we never would have stumbled into on our own, and were helped every step of the way by our trusty guide Fuego. He was incredible!
