Yes, we will be running our Portugal tour in 2027. We have made a slight change to it from feedback this year and it will be an 8 day tour. This is available to book now.

The 11 October is the last Portugal tour of the 2026 season and we do have availability for that tour date!

will there be wifi on this tour?

We do not have wifi on board, but Tourradar does provide an e-sim so you can use this for the duration of your trip. It works as your regard wifi so there is no need to have wifi on the coach. All the accommodations have excellent wifi so happy days.

I would like to know approximately how much time is spent each day in transport.

Daily you have on average 3 hours in our very comfortable small coaches but with plenty of stops so it never feels that long as we focus on experiences and time outside the bus.

If the tour starts in Sintra, 25 km outside of Lisbon, do we fly into Lisbon? If so, how do we then get to Sintra where the tour starts. This assumes a return flight home from Lisbon.

I'm interested in this Portugal trip; however, I'm seeing 2 different prices for 1 vs 2 adults. I'd be travelling solo but okay sharing a room if needed. How much is the trip? Also, how many people are usually on the trip? What is their age range?

To answer your question on pricing, the difference you're seeing is due to Single Occupancy vs. Double Occupancy. While we don't offer a room-sharing service, we find that our guests really appreciate having their own private sanctuary to retreat to at the end of a busy day of exploring. I completely understand that the "single supplement" can feel like a bit of a hurdle when traveling solo. To help make this a bit easier for you, I'd like to offer a €250 discount on the total cost of your tour. We love having solo travelers on our trips, and I'd love to see you join this group.

I don't fly into Lisbon until Sunday 7 June, would it be possible to miss the first day and join the tour on the evening of 7 June?

Yeah that is no problem at all, what time would you arrive? The first night we are in Cascais and it's easy to either take a taxi (30 km) or take the train, what ever suits best. We can make sure our guide picks you up from the translation or meets you at the hotel when you come of the taxi.

How many people are signed up for the June 7 Portugal Explorer tour?

We have currently one person on this trip and we have 14 spaces available.

Are bags transported by the tour operator or the guests?

Our coaches have luggage compartments so the bags are with you on the coach and will be taken by the hotel from the coach to your room.

Vera Lourenco is a very knowledgable tour guide, historian and art expert. She worked relentlessly to make our experience the best that it could be. Bruno, our driver, likewise is so skilled as a driver and a very nice man. The history of Portugal is very interesting and we left with an appreciation for the changes that have occurred over the centuries. I am not your typical tourist since during my career I worked in 20 developing world countries, so being a tourist is not that appealing to me. The highlight for me and others on the tour had the same reaction was the visit to Amor e Cego olive farm. I am sure finding destinations such as this one is not easy but you could easily develop a type of ecology/conservation of the old ways/protecting the land tour that would be very attractive to a large segment of people who travel and are looking for a realistic common man and woman in Portugal experience. I found Lisbon to be overcrowded and not really enjoyable. Probably why it was not a location included on the tour itinerary. Yes, I would do a tour again with Vera and Bruno.Show more

The accommodations were in beautiful locations and within easy walking distance to the fantastic Portuguese restaurants. Our tour guide Fuego was incredibly knowledgeable and shared some fascinating historical stories on each place we visited. He was an absolute diamond. You are never going to see all the places and things we saw without doing a tour like this. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before December 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after December 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of $350 is required to confirm your booking with Overland - Small Group Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Overland - Small Group Tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Overland - Small Group Tours" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
