    Asked on November 27th, 2025

I would like to travel quite a bit by rail. How much of this tour is by rail? Also I am a solo traveller so I am willing to share to avoid any surcharge. I would like to go on small group tour if possible with people over 50.

    Transport
    • Travel TalkOperatorWritten November 2025

Rail is used extensively throughout Japan on this tour, and is one of the main transportation methods between cities. Some shorter internal transfers are by coach or local bus where required. No problem at all to match you with another solo traveller of the same gender. Our group sizes average 4–40 passengers, depending on the departure. We welcome travellers of all ages 2+, and many of our guests are over 50.

Mount Fuji / Hakone: Cooler at 10–20°C. Hiroshima: 18–25°C, mild. Hokkaido (North): Cooler at 10–20°C. Light clothes for the day, a light jacket for evenings.
