Itinerary
- Day 1
Alquézar
You'll arrive in Alquézar, a mountain village surrounded by terraced fields. If your timing works out and you get in early, there's a walking tour available through the village and along the gorge that'll help you get your bearings and see what's around.

Landmarks Alquézar Rio Vero Gorge - Day 2
Alquézar
This is your first hiking day, and you get to choose between two routes. The shorter one takes you down into Rio Vero gorge, crosses a Romanesque bridge, and loops back through Asque village. The longer route heads toward prehistoric cave paintings instead. Both give you great views across the landscape with the Pyrenees visible in the distance.

Landmarks Rio Vero Gorge Asque - Day 3
Alquézar to Bierge
You'll walk on gravel roads and dirt tracks with views of Alquézar and the flat terrain below Sierra de Guara. You'll pass through a few small villages where you can stop at local bars if you want. By afternoon you reach your rural hotel in Bierge, which has its own private pool.

Landmarks Sierra de Guara - Day 4
Bierge
After a short drive to San Roman church, you'll hike through terraced fields and almond groves to Morrano village. From there it's down to a natural swimming spot on the Peonera River where you cross via stepping stones. The return route follows ridge paths back to Bierge, passing by the natural pools at Salto de Bierge.

Bierge to Las Almunias
This day takes you past El Huevo de Morrano (Morrano's Egg), a distinctive geological formation above the Arcanadre gorge. You'll follow the gorge northward to Pedruel and cross by bridge. A short stretch on asphalt road brings you to Las Almunias, where your hotel has its own pool.

Las Almunias
You'll follow an old charcoal burners' path through varied landscapes in Sierra de Guara. The hike continues along the edge of Balcez gorge, which works perfectly as a lunch spot. From there you can watch vultures circling overhead while looking out toward the Pyrenees peaks.

Landmarks Sierra de Guara Balcez Gorge - Day 7
Las Almunias to Alquézar
This longer hike takes you from Las Almunias back to Alquézar by crossing one of Sierra de Guara's best gorges. Along the way you'll pass Tranco de Olas and Puente de Brujas, reach the hilltop Ermita de la Virgen de la Viña chapel, then descend through forests, fields, and vineyards to Radiquero. A cab brings you back to Alquézar.
