Tour Radar did a great job communicating and booking this tour for me. Every time I thought of a question before the trip they replied quickly. We got to see a lot of Spain but mostly from the bus. We were the only English speaking tourists so they had a guide for us. Maria was with us the first couple of days and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and communicate everything we needed to know. I wish that she could have stayed with us the whole time. After she left us we were bounced around from group to group. Different guide, different group of people and different bus everyday. We didn’t get to make any friends because no one spoke English. We tried to communicate as much as we knew. The stops were great but not long enough. Some of the stops were 45 min and you would have to stand in a long line for the restroom part of that time. We were always worried to enjoy a coffee or a beer at the stops because we may need to use the bathroom. They discouraged anyone from using the restroom on the bus because it would make the bus smelly. Which I did appreciate but I would have felt more comfortable if I had that option. The hotels were nothing fancy but are what we usually stay in when we go to Europe. Kinda like an Econolodge in the States. The last night at the hotel Praga was our favorite because there was restaurants and shops close by. We also had time to enjoy Madrid on our last day because we booked an extra night. Overall we did really did enjoy the trip. I wish that it would have actually been an English tour or we would have brought some friends to hang out with. If you are Spanish and just wanting to experience a little of France and Spain, this would be a good trip for you. The company did everything they said they would do.

Our stay at the Surf camp was absolutely amazing, it was beautiful there near San Sebastián. The team were friendly and flexible, allowing us to do whatever we felt like doing. The surf instructors were patient and helpful and a lot of people rode their first ever wave. It had a real family feel to it and everyone there had an amazing time - would definitely recommend!

Best tour companies for Pyrenees tours
Explore really shines for people heading out solo - our travelers consistently mention how the guides make everyone feel included while keeping the whole group on track. The itineraries hit a sweet spot between structure and flexibility, so you can join group activities, head off on your own or just relax at the hotel. It's particularly good for first-time solo travelers who want some built-in companionship without feeling stuck in a rigid schedule. ExperiencePlus nails the cycling tour format with clever touches that make a big difference on the road. Their arrow marking system means you can pedal at your own pace without constantly checking maps, and they've clearly put thought into picking routes that connect you with local life. The guides know when to offer support and when to let riders explore independently. We've had some issues reported with Stoke Travel's Andorra Snow Weekend though, specifically around how they handle unexpected problems. Several customers told us they struggled to get clear answers about refunds when weather caused cancellations, and the communication could definitely be better when plans need to change. While the actual snow experience might be fine, their customer service needs work, especially compared to how smoothly Explore and ExperiencePlus manage similar situations.

Best time to visit Pyrenees
- Winter 2025 / 2026
The ski programs in Andorra have really carved out a niche, with several well-designed options to choose from. Our Soldeu-based tour gets travelers right into the mix of skiing and social time - you'll find yourself swapping stories over drinks with fellow skiers after good days on the slopes. There's also this smart setup that starts in Barcelona and heads to the Andorran runs; first-time skiers love it because the instructors take their time and know how to build confidence step by step. After hitting the slopes, the Caldea thermal spa visits help ease those muscle aches. For those who know their way around black diamonds, we've got tours with off-piste sections and nighttime snowshoe walks under the stars. One of our most popular options splits the day between morning ski runs and afternoon visits to mountain villages, where you can sample local wines and meet the residents.

- Spring 2026
Spring in the Pyrenees sets up perfectly for mixing activities, where our travelers love combining surf and yoga sessions in San Sebastian, complete with chef-prepared meals each day. The weather makes hiking from St Jean Pied de Port to Logroño particularly pleasant, letting you explore medieval villages and Rioja wine regions at a comfortable pace. Groups tell us they value how the season blends cultural experiences with outdoor pursuits - you can catch morning waves at Zarautz beach and follow up with afternoon pintxos wandering through historic quarters. Over at Sorteny Nature Reserve, the mountain paths showcase more than 700 flowering plant species, while keen bird watchers often spot bearded vultures circling overhead. We've found that art lovers appreciate how active days pair naturally with guided visits to Madrid's Prado Museum, where local art historians share deep knowledge of Spanish masterworks. Costa Brava becomes a cyclist's paradise in spring, when quiet roads wind past medieval towns and mountain climbs feel just right, well before summer visitors fill the routes.

- Summer 2026
Summer brings out the best in Pyrenees multi-activity programs. Our family-focused tour in Sort gets excellent reviews - parents tell us they love watching their kids grow more confident tackling activities like abseiling at Estaron Canyon and rafting the 'washing machine' rapids on Noguera River. The Costa Brava coastal routes mix cycling with swimming stops, while inland tours include picnic lunches with local specialties like longaniza sausage and farmhouse goat cheese. More active travelers pick the programs combining hiking in Aigues Tortes National Park with technical canyoning. One particularly good tour mixes surfing in Zarautz with yoga sessions and chef-prepared meals - it's perfect for solo travelers who want to meet people while staying active.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn in the Pyrenees brings excellent self-drive tours through Catalonia, where you can take your time exploring places that catch your eye. The routes connect medieval villages and coastal roads, with comfortable 4-star hotels waiting each evening. Our customers love discovering local markets in Palamos and visiting wine cellars around Palafrugell whenever they choose. Mountain passes see fewer visitors in fall, and Costa Brava's coastal views transform with rich autumn hues. Tours combining Madrid with northern Spain work particularly well this time of year - you'll walk through historic sites with art historians, explore Segovia's old quarter and also discover traditional Basque cuisine in San Sebastian. The routes through Andorra and into the South of France showcase seasonal changes across diverse landscapes, from mountain valleys to medieval towns like Carcassonne and Foix. Our guests often tell us how pleasant the cooler temperatures make their explorations, especially when visiting Montserrat Abbey or wandering through the historic streets of Girona.
