Another flexible day in Bangkok. You can check out the Maeklong Railway Market (which operates right next to active train tracks) and the colorful Damnoen Saduak Floating Market on your own. If you prefer something different, there's an optional guided tour of Ayutthaya, Thailand's ancient capital, visiting four historic temples with lunch at a local restaurant included.

You head north to Chiang Mai, the cultural center of Thailand set among mountains and greenery. A leisure day in Chiang Mai where you explore temples, markets, and the local scene at your own pace. You leave Chiang Mai and head toward Khao Sok National Park in southern Thailand. After a scenic drive and flight to Surat Thani, the route continues through forests where limestone cliffs and dense vegetation signal your arrival. Check into your unique accommodation, perhaps a floating villa or treehouse lodge, then unwind by listening to the jungle sounds and taking in the peaceful lake views.

Khao Sok National Park
Wake up to rainforest sounds at Khao Sok and enjoy a slow morning surrounded by limestone cliffs and clear water.
