Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Muscat
You'll land at Muscat International Airport and head to your hotel in the evening. Get yourself settled and rest up for the days ahead.


- Day 2
Muscat
After breakfast, explore Muscat by foot or cab starting at the Sultan Qabus Mosque, keeping in mind you'll need to dress modestly. Walk through the Mutrah Souk with its aromatic spice shops, then stroll along the Mutrah Corniche for harbor views. You can visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum or Al-Alam Palace depending on your interests. By evening, grab dinner by the sea in the Qurum district and watch the sunset over the Gulf of Oman.

Muscat to Hajar Mountains
Pick up your off-road vehicle with roof tent after breakfast and get a briefing on the route and driving conditions. Head toward the Hajar Mountains, checking out Nakhl Fort and the natural hot springs at Ain Thowarah. Navigate through Wadi Bani Awf with its dramatic gorges and mountain villages. That night you'll sleep under the stars in your rooftop tent.

Jebel Shams
This is one of the best driving sections of the trip. See the terraced gardens and ancient falaj irrigation systems at Misfat Al Abriyeen, then visit the mud-house museum in Al Hamra. Continue up to Jebel Shams, the Grand Canyon of Oman, at over 2,000 meters with panoramic views from every angle. Another night in your rooftop tent surrounded by mountains.

- Day 5
Jebel Shams to Nizwa
After breakfast, visit Jabrin Fort with its ornate ceiling paintings and detailed architecture, then head to Bahla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the country's largest clay fort and traditional potteries throughout the old town. Later you'll reach Nizwa, Oman's former capital, where you'll sleep in a hotel tonight to recharge.

- Day 6
Nizwa to Wahiba Sands
Start early to see the lively Nizwa Souq, particularly worthwhile on Fridays for the traditional cattle auction. Continue east to Al Minzafah in Ibra, then head to Wadi Bani Khalid for a swim in the crystal-clear natural pools. In the afternoon, reach Wahiba Sands with its red and gold dunes reaching up to 160 meters. That evening you'll spend the night in your rooftop tent watching the sunset over the desert.

Wahiba Sands to Ras Al Jinz
Today you head to the coast. Start by checking out the Hamoda Mosque in Jalan Bani Bu Ali, then move to Oman's eastern beaches for swimming and relaxation in turquoise water. Later you'll reach Ras Al Jinz or Ras Al Hadd, where you can potentially see sea turtles coming ashore to lay eggs in the evening. Sleep under the stars in your rooftop tent right on the beach.

Ras Al Jinz to Muscat
Visit the coastal town of Sur in the morning to see the traditional dhow shipyard where wooden boats are still handcrafted. Drive along the scenic coastal road and stop for photos at the turquoise-colored Bimah Sinkhole. If time allows, explore Wadi Tiwi or Wadi Shaab. Head back to Muscat for an overnight stay before your departure.
