All trains are second class. Trains without a ticket class next to them are a shorter train that does not have classes of tickets. Collette purchases group tickets for each train journey, so there is no possibility for upgraded train tickets on Alpine Lakes and Scenic Trains. Swiss Rail Passes are not used on tour.

Would we be responsible for transferring our luggage between hotels?

All the guests will leave their bags outside their hotel room door in the morning that it's time to depart to the next Hotel and the tour manager should advise this to everyone the night before. The hotel staff handles taking larger checked size luggage from the rooms to the bus and from the bus to the hotel. All you will take is your personal items you wish to carry or any carryon bags.

I had a great trip and our Tour Manager made the trip even more enjoyable! Every day we had an activity and free time to explore. My favorite thing about the trip was hiking under the Matterhorn and seeing Mount Pilatus. The Hotel's were all unique and had a boutique feel, with rooms decorated like the towns we were visiting. Some of my favorite things this trip were Lago Maggiore (Stesa), FAI Cheese Tour, the Cog Wheel Train, Lucerne Old Town, exploring the Village of Zermatt and St. Moritz. The pace of the tour was quick, but also in depth in each location. The Tour Manager was always available to give her suggestions as to what to do during our "Free Time". She even helped us find a Tobbogan to ride... (not an included event, but maybe should be?)Show more

Our guide, Vili, did a wonderful job of creating a cohesive group that was supportive, friendly, and fun. The Matterhorn had to be the best experience.   We offer round trip in destination transfers from airport to hotel on arrival and hotel to airport on return. These transfers are priced at $75.00 per person, per direction. We only offer one optional excursion for this tour called Treasures of Lake Orta on day 5 of the tour. This is $85.00 per person.
