You'll start in Buenos Aires with time to walk around and get a feel for the city. The Belle Epoque architecture is worth checking out, and there's plenty to do in neighborhoods like La Boca where you'll find colorful street art, or San Telmo if you prefer the more relaxed, artistic vibe. Grab a coffee at one of the sidewalk cafes and just soak it in before your overnight stay.

- Day 2
Buenos Aires to Ushuaia
After breakfast, you'll head to the airport and fly down to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Once there, you'll board the Scenic Eclipse, an ultra-luxury yacht that'll be your home for the next part of the journey. Settle in and cruise through the Beagle Channel from your private verandah, taking in views of the Andean mountains from either your room or the Observation Deck.

At sea

You'll spot your first icebergs from the Observation Deck as Antarctic waters come into view. Keep an eye out for whale blows in the distance, and the Polar Discovery Team will be around to explain what you're seeing and answer questions about this unpredictable environment.

Antarctica
From your verandah, you can watch icebergs and glacial mountains throughout the day. There are over 40 bird species to spot including wandering albatrosses and giant petrels. The team organizes flexible excursions based on weather and ice conditions, and with 18 to 20 hours of daylight, you'll have plenty of time to explore.

Antarctica
Depending on conditions, you might land at Portal Point to visit a historic British refuge hut, or head to Deception Island to see an active volcano caldera. Either way, you'll encounter hundreds of thousands of chinstrap penguins in their natural habitat.

Antarctica

Navigate the Lemaire Channel, often called 'Kodak Alley' for its dramatic scenery. It's an 11-kilometre stretch with narrow 700-metre passages between rocky mountains and glowing blue icebergs. Grab a specialty tea or coffee and watch through Swarovski telescopes from the deck.

Antarctica

The expedition ends this morning when you arrive back in Buenos Aires. Transfer to the elegant Alvear Palace Hotel in La Recoleta for a three-night stay. Your suite is decorated in opulent Louis XV and XVI style with crystal chandeliers and fine artwork.

A local guide takes you through Buenos Aires to see both highlights and hidden spots.
